    Central location and easy to navigate. Shops are expensive but Waverley mall has a bunch of food options when you're in a hurry.

    The layout can be very confusing especially when it's busy. Look up a station map and departure boards online if you need to make a connection.

    Avoid Virgin Trains East Coast if you can. OH WAIT THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY. Definitely don't pay for first class, it's rubbish since they clearly cut as many corners as they could.

    The main sitation of the city. Free wi-fi. Castle is 10 minutes away by walking. Waiting room is warmer than outside. Finding a socket to charge phones is not easy. Charge them at the train.

    Surprisingly big. Get here early to get oriented & get to your track. 1st class lounge was nice but departure screen only gave us 15 minutes to catch our train when it popped up. Still, been to worse.

    navigating this train station is ridiculously hard! It took me 15 minutes to locate platform 16! Too many stairs, escalators and the like only make it even more confusing!!!

    No shops open before 5:30 except for two coffee kiosks, so if you're up for an early start, make sure you bag your morning meal elswhere.

    Well worth joining Scotrail advance - free entry to first class lounge no matter what ticket you have. Wifi, tea, coffee, clean toilets and much more comfortable for waiting.

    It is not unusual for the Glasgow Queen Street train to arrive a minute before it's due to depart back to Glasgow. And it will - make sure you're on the platform!

    Fabulous railway station. I like the way that nothing is accurately sign posted. If you take the stairs to princes street though you'll get one hell of a great view

    If you see a scotrail staff member. Smack em if they start yapping "you have to pay full fare on the train" it's complete lies and they are encouraged to lie to increase turnover.

    Jenners Department store (opposite station) has free city guides with tourist maps of the city center (top floor near the café), better than paying £2.50 for the ones in the Tourist Information.

    Toilets now cost 30p to use, so having change is useful. However, more shops now including a Whistle Stop & Costa, so making change if you don't want to use the change machine is easy.
