Avoid ferries the night before Thanksgiving! The line was backed up all the way to the PCC. Tried again on the 7:15 Thanksgiving morning and it was WAY more reasonable...
This is the point where I always start feeling the excitement of coming home to Western Washington.

They don't sell passenger tickets on the Kingston side, only in Edmonds (which means a free ride from Kingston to Edmonds unless you need to go back!)
If you're in the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry line stop in for a hot coffee.
If there is not a line... go ahead and shave a mile of useless driving and turn into the ferry turnstiles from Dayton St., ignoring the sign
It now costs $7.50 to walk on in Edmonds.
If walking on, always get there at least 5 mins early.

There's paid wifi on the ferry.
While you wait, grab an Expresso or hot dog at the refreshment stand at Main Street.
This route made us miss rafting. Avoid the ferry!
$6.00 most of the time when you walk on to Kingston, free walk on return.
There is a small coffee stand across from the ferry loading station, it's super yummy and affordable.. They also have a butt load of snacks!
You can't just keep riding! You have to get off when you get to one side.
They have a public restroom right next to the ferry waiting line in case you need it.
There's free wireless accross the street at the Harborside Coffee shop and some pretty great coffee
Make sure you check the schedule, and get here early! Especially on those busy summer weekends.
