People tend to check in during these times:
Val-Kill gives you an opportunity to get to know Elenor without Franklin
Val-Kill, the only national park site dedicated to a First Lady, was the retreat of Junior League volunteer and UN Delegate, Eleanor Roosevelt.
Intended as a retreat for Eleanor Roosevelt, the property was named Val-Kill, Dutch for “waterfall” and “stream” and includes a Dutch Colonial house designed by Henry Tombs and completed in 1925.
If you do the rail trail bring bug repellant. The Mosquitos are terrible, but the walk is nice
This is very different than the Roosevelt mansion on Rt. 9. In order to get a more complete understanding of Franklin & Eleanor, you need to tour both locations.
