The Elysian was founded in 1995 by Dick Cantwell (President/Head Brewer), Joe Bisacca (CFO/Head of Operations) and David Buhler (Sales & Marketing Director). Our first Seattle location, a 220-seat beer hall and our main brewery, opened in 1996 on Capitol Hill, Seattle’s most populous neighborhood.
Seattle's very own craft beer franchise. They got bought up recently by a big corporate so it might change pretty soon. Watch out for new tips! Beer variety could be bigger but OK quality.
Whoa pumpkin ale is very pumpkin-y!
The beer is still good in spite of the takeover. I just had a bad experience with service and food. Don't order the tomato rosemary soup. Tastes like Campbell's.
The seasonal beer flight is a must!
No brunch, just lunch, but it's good food, I liked the gumbo, my wife the meatloaf special.
Took us forever to get just beer. Pick a locally owned brewery :/
Good beer, great lentil soup.
Try the poutine. It's deadly!
Good craft brews, though not all was to my taste. Come and try all!
Their food is pretty good, my fav is the falafel tabouli plate. But above food, they have great beer and amazing bartenders that make really good cocktails even though it's a brewery :)
Catch the staff on Monday or Tuesday, when the bar is emptier.
Always have to get a paddle of current releases
Not too packed on a sat night
Now owned by Anheuser Busch. Go somewhere independently owned. Not some sell out owned by a conglomerate bent on owning every craft brewer to dumb down craft beer.
Big name with few actually enjoyable beers. Try the cappuccino stout.
Legend has it if you sit under the guardian devil, he'll grant you your heart's desire, but it'll turn out to bite you in the ass.
One of the best brew pubs in the city, so many great beers for every taste and the food is great too!
The steak frites are always good. Don't skimp on the sauce.
The food used to be ok but they must have gotten a new chef. The roast beef panini was awful :/
The beer is awesome and the food is very good too! Highly recommended.
So...it used to be a reasonable place to visit and expect great service/a great atmosphere. As of late, it sucks. If you want a corner bar with shit ass attitude and lame ass service, come here.
Try the beer.
My favorite beer in the city... Superfuzz!
nachos r yummmmmmy
If you are a fan of craft beer, you MUST go here when in Seattle.
Loser pale ale is not for losers. Damn good beer.
The food was the worst ever!! The only thing any one like was the beer. We have not been back.
Capitol Hill neighborhood
The split pea soup is Devine!
All the beers are amazing, but definitely try The Fix. You'll be wide awake for hours.
The poutine is always bombing here.
Get the seasonal beer flight!
The Great Pumpkin Ale is good but Mortis Sour Persimmon Ale is probably the best beer I've had in my life. So, get that.
If you like amazingly rich food, try the Steak Frites with Bleu Cheese sauce. It's soooo good! Also: the craft brews here are fantastic!
drinkable booze. edible food. livable domiciles.
Tall and Skinny. Get one. Lavender DRY Soda with Stoli and fresh blueberries. Super yum!
If you wanna wait a million years for food this is your place.
They have great cocktails too!
The black bean burger is the bomb.
The Avatar Jasmine IPA rocks. Just sayin'.
Good beer. Food is okay. Interesting neighborhood .
Beer is good, food not so much. The 'Steak Frites' costs $15 and is mostly fat and is not a decent cut of meat
Next time trying a veg meal. The brisket was mad chewy but the squash and sprouts it came with were excellent.
Unlike the rest of the people, I personally didn't like the pumpkin beer... It was pretty strong and left a strong after taste that was unpleasant.
Tuesday night at Elysian is Friday night atmosphere.
Black bean cakes! Delish!
Washington Beer Lover members, be sure to bring your passport to get a stamp.
The Avatar Jasmine IPA is just phenomenal. Get it on draft if available.
