Give yourself ample time to move through the station and make connections. Keep an eye on your belongings, it's easy to become a victim of bag thieves who use distraction to walk off with your stuff.

They've got a great fully automatic luggage storage here. Pay 4-5 euros for 24 hours depending on the size of your bag and be free to have a walk around the city with no load on your shoulders.

The left luggage storage area is located towards the rear of the station and is next to McDonald's and the Telefonica phone shop. It is a secure area manned by guards 24 hours a day.

Don't bother being super organised and buy your ticket earlier in the day, tickets are only valid for two hours and you'll get stung for a second fare

If you don't speak Spanish/Catalan, plan to arrive an hour before your scheduled departure; lines at the information desks are VERY long, and the different arrival/departure boards can be confusing.

Luggage storage is called 'Left Luggage' here. The mid size storage can host '3' boarding-size luggage a and costs you only €5,20. Really nice.

In the Summer, a cool place to wait before you catch your train is the McDonald's which has good airconditioning. Especially around the McCafé stand.

The station doesn't look trendy, not a lot of food choices. Don't plan to spend time before boarding. But Renfe rail can use iPhone Passport to check in, which is great.

The right station if you want to go westward. However it's not easy to find the right counter and order the right ticket unless you speak Spanish.

From here you go anywhere in Spain. If your train is in the underground, just go 10 min before or you will boil.

Be sure to pay attention which exit you take. Saves you a long walk around or through (if you are lucky) the station.

I strongly recommend you to buy your train tickets at another station or before going to Sants. This starion is always overcrowded and the queues to buy a ticjet are large and slow.

Waiting in line for information can take up to 3hrs, then you take a number & wait more hours in line for a ticket. Save time, use the automatic ticket machines!!

The way this place is described you'd think you're going to get a net thrown over you when you walk outside. I'm sure there's pickpockets and shady people around but arriving midday we had no issues.

Close to almost everywhere in Barcelona, well located. Not good food and not many stores but easy to move and get to the train. Very, very hot during summer and few seats available. Paid WC, no wifi

If you arrive here with heavy luggage and need to take the metro avoid using the metro access INSIDE the station. Go outside and use the metro elevators in the corner of Numancia street.
