Come early, before the Colosseum. Bring snacks and you can have a little picnic amid millennia-old ruins.

Included in the colessum ticket, the area is huge, dont suggest to walk all the place in August..It takes you back to medieval times,if you like to imagine how it would to live in those ages, go for it!

If you are visiting in summer, bring a large umbrella and plenty of water as tree covering is scarce (where available it is usually hogged) and it is plenty hot.

If you buy the ticket for Roman Forum and Palatine Hill: enter via Palatine Hill first. The queue if way shorter and you can enter Roman Forum from Palatine Hill.

The only good place in Rome. Once you're in, stay as long as you can and enjoy the beautiful ancient sites and architecture without being constantly molested by the f.ing street vendors.

Magnificent site. It's part of the package when visiting the Colosseum. It's a pity because now it's mostly rubble. But worth visiting all the while.
