Beautiful park. Kids couldn't stop quoting Forrest Gump though.

    Great plaza, no bench :(

The bench was located here only for the filming of the movie, on the north edge of Chippewa Square Park at the corner of W. Hull and Bull Sts. The bench was setting where the one way sign is located.

It was at the park sign facing the Church

Wie sie sehen, sehen sie nix. Die Bank ist im Museum.

The Original Bench is at The Savannah History Museum (303 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard). Not far from the park.

    Ed McEvoy · November 6, 2011
  • Rebecca K.

Correct! The bench was only a movie fixture & is at the history museum. Benches around square pay homage to the design of the bench in Forrest Gump.

    Rebecca King · September 21, 2011
  • Sylvia M.

The bench was a movie prop according to a local resident and is on view nearby.

    Sylvia Martinez · July 5, 2011
  • Andrè P.

Yeah, they took the bench away because people kept trying to steal it. But this is the square.

    Andrè P. · September 2, 2010
  • Ed

False. The bench is no longer there.
