    Hilly with lots of trees. Monument and visitor area are full of interesting info from the revolutionary war. No benches on outer perimeter of park. Only towards the inside area.

    The final resting place to +11,500 POWs who died on the 16 British prison ships during the Civil War. It was once the tallest stone Doric column of its kind. So, the Brits built a bigger one. LOL. 😪

    Best running path in the area. Circle around the hill is just about a mile. Try uphill too for an extra challenge.

    I love this park! Come back for the farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Hit up Walter's for a snack. Notice the placards marking the "tree trail" - there are 20 different kinds of trees here!

    Because of the dogs, the park is mostly mud - and the remaining grass has been pooped and peed all over. Needs a doggy pen - like Madison Square park. And they bite me when I run. Irresponsible owners

    If your dog poops more than expected, there are several spots along the inner path that have poles equip with emergency poop bags. Feel free to bring extras to leave for others!

    If you are a female sunbather, look out for the creep with dreads who will come sit 15 feet away from you and watch you while he talks phone. He's done this for years. Only bad thing about the park!

    Fort Green Park is not actually at Dekalb and Marcy. It's way further west, near Pratt. Tompkin's park is a block SOUTH, however. And has an awesome dog park.

    It's easy to get on the tennis courts if you get there before 4pm on weekdays, and there's usually nobody there to check for a pass. Free tennis!
