Get there early to be sure you get a good seat on the boat. Fun boat ride around the harbor, they drop you off and give you time on the fort. The history talk is interesting.

If you take the ferry out, you only have an hour to explore, and the park rangers talk for most of that. So read up on the history beforehand and skip the talk. Very cool experience. Lots to explore.

Take the ferry to this Civil War landmark. The first shots were fired here and its geographical importance is clear once you take a 360-degree view from the island.

Best to take the ferry from Patriot Point so you can also see a great naval museum. Also instead of walking around, its best to follow the ranger tour so you can learn the most from the experience
