A perfect spot for a date. When the weather is warm, there is a lovely garden that you can eat in out back. Don't know which wine to order? Try a carafe of the house red.

Homemade cavatelli is the freshest around and the BLT is genuine goodness. Doesn't knock you off your socks but the warm ambiance and the quality in ingredients and service should send you right back.

The cavatelli pasta alone is worth the trip to Carroll Gardens, but, then, so is the rest of the food & scene here, which is quintessentially Aging Hipster in the best possible way. [Eater 38 Member]

One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. Fresh and delicious- all ingredients made in house. Try the cavatelli with sausage and pappardelle with braised rabbit!

Beautiful outdoor space in the back and awesome food. Gnocchi was delicious. Great wine selection by the bottle or glass. $5 olives that were assorted red and green!

Order this exactly: Carafe of the house red wine is good - and cheap! Robiola and Taleggio cheese as an appetizer. Cavatelli with sausage and sage butter for an entree. mmmmmmmm

A neighborhood treasure - Get a few salads and a couple of mains. The cavatelli pasta is the best dish on the menu. Also if the weather is good, try and sit in the awesome back garden.

Don't miss the cavatelli dish. Pair it with the octopus or fennel and parsley salad and you have yourself an awesome dinner. If you find yourself here for brunch, go with the BLT or go splitty splitty

Perfect for date nights. Sweet potato ravioli is out of this universe. The buttery-sage sauce is innovation! Drinks are on the money! Long waits-worth it. Wine is delish! Spaghetti meatballs are wowza

Just about everything is excellent here--the only problem is that it's so hard to get in. Lovely backyard as well, unfortunately it's just about always booked up for special events.

The sausage, pepper, onion on polenta is fantastic! I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sophisticated looking, but simple tasting meal. Really good!

Pumpkin ravioli with sage butter sauce and cavatelli pasta are delicious! But the standout was the dessert.... plum something with a marscapone topping. It was like eating Christmas on a spoon.

If you're going to get crostini, go for the mushroom and truffle oil. The cavatelli is amazing, as are the meatballs. Beet and avocado salad is amazingly fresh as well.

Pleased as punch over my dinner. Had meatballs, sweet potato ravioli and a side of sunchokes. Even a glass of the house red was tops. I'm looking forward to trying everything on the menu.

Fresh pasta and soups are my favorite thing at Frankies. I trust their daily specials because they're always made using the best of what's available in the greenmarket.

Have the French Toast if you've been good or the Granola if not, but the freshly squeezed OJ is a must. And try to get the big window in the rear. Be nice to Bobbi!

Try the sweet potato + sage ravioli, and if it's back on the winter menu, the braised lamb pappardelle is the perfect cold weather comfort food.

Up for experimenting w/ a lesser-known variety? Opt for Foradori's 2007 Terolodego (Rotaliano DOC). The teroldego grape delivers full-bodied reds, w/ dark purple color, and soft tannins. agwine.com
