One of the longest running Korean Restaurant in Koreatown, NYC. Providing the most comforting Korean food in NYC.
Official News from the owner & management: Gahm Mi Oak is closing on January 1st 2015. :(
This place hasn't changed since the nineties and I'm glad it hasn't. Better seullungtang than any place in Seoul.
Like everyone else's tip, I too suggest you go here for their sul lang tang and their incredibly delicious kimchi. They have a chain in NJ and Queens and they are all just as delicious.
Not the best sullungtang I've had but it's open 24/7. Good hangover food
Great if you're craving a hearty homemade soup on a cold drunken night
Sul long tang
the best kimchi in Ktown. excellent bibimbap and sultang (beef bone soup). don't over salt your soup like I do.
Beef soup is decent, but menu lacks selection
+ Food was just so so also.. As a korean, it isn't delicious. I can't recommend this place. 팁 주기가 아까웠다.
The WORST service. They are just so busy because of talking and didn't take care of customers for sure. It's also kind of their job. I mean not only make a good food but also concentrate on customer.
Watch out, big green pepper they bring out as appetizer can be really spicy.
Bossam is not enough for two but tastes great. Order other small dish and bossam!
Sulung Tang. All night long.
Not great Korean food for a place in K-town. The sullang-tang is good, but their bibimbap and pancakes are bland and boring.
Some of the best kimchee I've had
You're here for seolleongtang, a milky, creamy ox bone broth perfect for soothing the stomach after a late night of drinking. Open 24 hours.
Certainly the best sul Lang tang in the city. The bim bim bap is remarkable as well, seemingly a class above many others on the koreatown strip
You can request additional Kimchi for free!
Bring friends. Pricey food and portions are big
Very good Korean with helpful photographic menu.
The best kimchi and radish I've ever had in my life. The sullungtang always hits the spot!
Try the Sullungtang (설렁탕) - When there is a little sign of rundown. I get a bowl of this oxtail soup.
Sullang-tang on a rainy day is the best.
Best sullungtang in NY Ktown and conveniently open 24 hrs a day.
Please allow the waiter to serve the kimchi.
Best Sul Long Tang, best Yook Hwe and Bibim Bap ever!!!!
Better than Korea...
Just look at Peter's tip. The ox soup is bomb.
I love their Kimchi. Very legit kimchi. Def try the 설렁탕 (sul lung tang).

Get that bibimbap, put an egg on it.
Kinda disappointed with the surlong soup. I hope that's not how it tastes like elsewhere. Everything else on menu is overpriced though for a small party.
Best kimchi I've had
New Jersey location us much better with Dol Sot Bok Keum bap and dogani tang. This location needs to step up and definitely the quality has dropped from the past.
The best kimchi ever + suhl lung tang = yum!
Try the Bin Dae Dook
Try the Sulrong Tang
The sul lang tang is pretty damn good here, but the bi bim bap is 1st rate, and the kimchee is pretty excellent too.
I get the sullungtang with the rice on the side instead of mixed in. Bibimbop is good here too. Kimchi is delish!
Got to get the sullang-tang here. Everything else just doesn't compare
Amazing bi bim bap!
Modeum soondae. Nuff said.
The name is misspelled. It is Gahm Mi Oak.
Best. Ox-Tail soup. Ever.
This is THE place for sul long tong in K-Town - just add salt and scallions! Also love the kimchi here.
설렁탕에 수육, 소주!
Best sullungtang in ny But algo modung bossam rocks.. With oysters
내기억엔..미지근한 설렁탕 퉁퉁불은 소면.. 게다가 종업원 남자는 팁문제로 우리를 불쾌하게 만든곳. 별로 다신가고싶지않은곳.. 가격대비 별로였던 곳..
