Galt House Hotel boasts 1,290 guest rooms, 128,000 square-feet of convention space, more than 50 meeting rooms and six restaurants and lounges.
love this place!
Needs an update.
Cup of coffee, a good book, waiting to meet a friend.
Time for a coffee drink
Not a bad place. Get a higher floor for better view. Chemical cleaner smell strong in room. Thermostat set to a chilly 66 upon arrival.
Beautiful old hotel! You are right in the middle of the city and can walk to most places! Friendly staff! We would come back!
Great place to stay, and you must eat at Jeff Rubys!
Stay in the suite tower. It is quieter and has a shower hook. You also get a mini fridge
Check in pretty easy
If you forgot your charger go to the information desk - they have boxes of them and will try to find one for you. Helped me out!
The 3-cheese french onion soup at the Magnolia Cafe is awesome! Great hotel with wonderful service & large rooms. Surprise lighted vanity mirror in hall outside bedroom was very helpful.
The Bourbon Bar is highly recommended by Whiskey Lovers Germany [whiskey-lovers.luxus.welt.de]
Mint Julep Tours leaves from the 3rd floor in the Rivue Tower. Great way to get out and experience bourbon distilleries without having to drive.
Great relaxed fun!
Love this place. Highly reccomend and will be back again same time next year if not before.
fave lville hotel, hands-down. I mean -- there's goldfish inside the atrium bar -- c'mon. <3
Excellent Hotel and service!
Horrible Internet, don't even bother paying for it
Great hotel. Amazing suites. The sure was only $20 extra a night and worth it
If you're looking for updated, old-world charm and great customer service, this is the place. The suites are very large and quiet.
Wireless is not very good, very disappointed!!
Great bourbon and bars, picture your great grandma's house and dial up internet speeds... Take it for what it's worth.
Stop at Al J'a for a Red Stag & lemonade. Favorite bartender was Amber.
Good luck getting cell service in the Conference Center. WiFi is not free and it is not good either.
Parking in the underground lot is $12 for guests... they'll tell you to use your room key when leaving, and charge it to your CC.
GH-GUEST wifi is $5.95 for 24 hours from the time you sign in.
Really nice hotel. Getting on the elevators sucks tho.
Take the escalator to the third floor, then get on the elevator to avoid the first floor lines.
Awesome hotel! Had a great stay!
Check out the atrium bar and the revue restaurant on the top floor for Sunday brunch.
When you reserve & confirm that you booked a Suite with a king bed, beware, they'll tell you it's only a "suggestion" & give you a Suite with a double queen bed, if you're lucky :(
Bring your own robe, light bulbs out & broken lamp but maintenance was fast. Valet didn't load bags or even open the door, rivue was great.
Try not to stay in the Rivue Tower. Walls are paper thin and lots of freeway noise. Bourbon bar is awesome!
If you have the energy, the stairs can be faster than the elevator.
Park in the first garage on the right side at the third floor entrance. It's right by the Suite Tower elevators.
If you value your hard-earned dollars, don't stay at this hotel. They try their darnedest to take your $$ away. Everything is an extra charge, including wi-fi, gym and even parking during check-in.
Be careful what you leave out in your room housekeeping may throw away or take your stuff.
Be prepared to wait for the elevator. Give yourself at least ten extra minutes
Get a room on a higher floor for better window views
Nice homey hotel with big rooms. Mini fridge in room but water vending machine empty. The bathroom fans stay on with the light which I don't like, the rooms smell like mildew!
Gotta pay for internet and parking.
Thunder in the Conservatory is a prime spot for Thunder Over Louisville:
Very nice hotel. The elevators are few in number and incredibly slow. Take the stairs if you're in any kind of hurry.
Allow extra time for elevators. Big group in house
Friendly staff, great fitness center (and cheap), easy access to the convention center. Thank you for hosting Travel South, Galt House!
The rooms in the Suite Tower are seriously like small apartments. Nice :)
"The original Galt House opened in 1835. Its two towers now overlook the Ohio River. Several U.S. presidents - Carter, Reagan and Clinton, to name three - have been guests."
Don't go here during Nov-Jan expecting to have a drink at one of the "largest bourbon bars in the country". It's closed down and turned into a damn gingerbread house. They won't tell you this though..
Very large and confusing hotel.
