It's a market, it's a restaurant, it's a wine shop...and it's all really good. From the pizza to the charcuterie you can't go wrong with this Iron Chef Jose Garces eatery.
Jose Garces creates a European-style bistro, serving pizzas and paella.
You must try the fries fried in duck fat!
Tip well - that's my tip ;-)
Can buy a bottle of wine until 10pm. Open later than any state store in city.
What's that loud droning sound? Enjoy the cheese plate with great accompaniments (blue cheese and honey!) Watch as the tomatoes slide right off your deep dish pizza onto the table.
Get the charcuterie sampler for some good eats.
Highly recommend a stop in Philly to try Garces. Great Concept bring friends to have even a better experience. Steak Frites was awesome. Fries are cooked in Duck Oil. Sister Amada is also great. Tapas
The cheeses are unbelievably amazing! Any and all of them! Also, the pizza with serrano ham has ricotta cheese that melts in your mouth.
The best way to order here is to share a bunch of dishes with your table. And don't forget to sample cheese and oils before being seated!
Get the vichyssoise, you won't regret it!
Get the tasting menu! It's fabulous and a great deal. You won't be disappointed. Also the red sangria is a treat. It's not overly sweet and treacly.
Sunday brunch has a $25 three course tasting menu, be sure to get the assorted cookies for desset, also buy a jar of truffle honey as you leave.
The funghi pizza is great, and so is the papradelle with lamb ragu.
Try the baby artichoke app, lemony and delicious. Also had the Spanish sandwich, was not disappointed!
Deep dish pizza with meatballs. Oh. Em. Gee.
If you're sitting down, try the breakfast radish and goat butter appetizer. If you're looking for dessert to go, try the raspberry financiers and the caneles.
The hostess here is either really rude or really dumb. Came in, with reservations on a Thurs. for an anniversary and she sat us at a terrible table & broke a glass on my girlfriend. We left.
Ask for Steve. Get the house specialty: steak frites. Enjoy a nice cut of meat with a great sauce, topped with tasty fries. The best part? It's endless... so worth it
Jose Garces’s contribution to Philly’s sandwich legacy: the cubano clásico, roast pork and house-cured tasso with Gruyère, mustard, and pickles, plancha-pressed to give the cheese just the right ooze.
Food blogger Janice of Gigabiting recommends Garces Trading Company. "The plats du jour feature smartly updated classics such as coq au vin, short rib and oxtail lasagna, and the city’s best paella."
just love this place. always wonderful service & excellent food. start with the cheese selections. deep dish is def worth the 30min wait... yummmm!!!
Wine shop has the best selection in the city and the prices aren't half bad.
They now sell beer, wine, and liquor as well as having the state wine store attached
Pizzas are delish! And if you didn't BYOB there is a winery inside, buy one here.
Artisan coffee & caneles de bordeaux. Seriously magical. Their french presses are hugemongous, though. A small is perfect for 2!
Loved the olives and artichokes. Delicious food but vegetarians take note! There's just one veg-friendly cheese on the menu.
All the condiments for the cheese and meat are delicious- especially the garlic leche and lavender honey
One of my faves! Try the different olive oils while you wait for your table especially the truffle oil. Great selection on wines. Try the Tempranillo aged 10yrs.
Breakfast is a deal. A large, deep-dish piece of quiche, salad and a coffee is just a little over $10.
The black truffle olive oil is fantastic and you won't be disappointed with any of the pizzas. Also loved the housemade fennel salami.
There is a wine and spirits store in the restaurant. The down side of that is you have to pay a hefty cork fee of $15
Don't look for the market. It's not here anymore, but there is a beautiful new bar.
In-house wine store (score!) but $15 corkage fee (!!!)
Try the Bianco Sardo. It is really worth it.
Really good! Great atmosphere in there!
If you've got an appetite, regular pizza won't be enough. Staff professional and courteous, not much activity before 8 pm (although it is a rainy weeknight and the phillies are playing home)
Everything is great! But go for the uovo pizza!
Get the bouchon!
Food was amazing. Such an awesome brunch and an incredible Bloody Mary!
Only one bathroom. Plan ahead!
don't skip the bread and artisanal olive oil, it is lucious
