Love the service here. Share a bunch of plates but be sure to keep the Steak Frites for yourself.
Don't eat too much bread at the start! During Restaurant Week, one order (4 courses) is plenty for 2 people. Wish we'd known that before ordering.
Had the most amazing brunch here. Coffee, homemade granola parfait, Gruyere/bacon Sicilian breakfast pizza, and free (!!!) pastries!
excellent breakfast. very good olive oil. great portion control.
The food and service was great! Josh was our server and he was patient with us as we experienced Garces for the first time. Highly recommend if you're in town.
Delicious food and great service
A great spot a for a date. Excellent wine selection.
Owned by the Iron Chef & they know what quality food is all about. Must order lamb chops & local philly beer.
Pretty good food, make sure you get some sample cups of the various olive oils and balsamic vinegars by the bar and try them with your meal
Tasting menu is amazing, especially for the price. The prix fixe brunch is also great. They have an in house wine shop as well as truffle oils, balsamic vinegar, macarons and pastries.
Must come. Duck salad, fries with duck oil, coffee, even the olive oil is tasty. I am gonna come fairly often
Fresh mozzarella is unbelievable. Only complaint is they took a long time to seat us despite having made a reservation.
Quite possibly the best baked eggs I have ever had.
Not as good as I expected. Food was good at best and service was incredibly slow considering it was 8:00 on a Wednesday night.
Steak with fries was "all you can eat." Not bad, but I would have liked to have sampled the rest of the menu.
Liquor store is excellent. Brunch was outstanding
The fresh mozzarella is out of this world. It comes in an olive oil float and makes a great meal in itself. This is quite simply the best mozzarella I've eaten.
The croque madame is absolutely delish! I had to pause for 2 minutes after the first bite...then took another one...and confirmed that the first bite was THAT good!
All you can eat steak. Really? Really.
Great blend of French & Spanish influenced nosh & libation. Also wonderful waitstaff!
There is a wine and spirits store in the restaurant. The down side of that is you have to pay a hefty cork fee of $15
Don't look for the market. It's not here anymore, but there is a beautiful new bar.
In-house wine store (score!) but $15 corkage fee (!!!)
Try the Bianco Sardo. It is really worth it.
Really good! Great atmosphere in there!
Highly recommend a stop in Philly to try Garces. Great Concept bring friends to have even a better experience. Steak Frites was awesome. Fries are cooked in Duck Oil. Sister Amada is also great. Tapas
If you've got an appetite, regular pizza won't be enough. Staff professional and courteous, not much activity before 8 pm (although it is a rainy weeknight and the phillies are playing home)
The cheeses are unbelievably amazing! Any and all of them! Also, the pizza with serrano ham has ricotta cheese that melts in your mouth.
Everything is great! But go for the uovo pizza!
Get the bouchon!
Food was amazing. Such an awesome brunch and an incredible Bloody Mary!
Only one bathroom. Plan ahead!
don't skip the bread and artisanal olive oil, it is lucious
Tip well - that's my tip ;-)
The hostess here is either really rude or really dumb. Came in, with reservations on a Thurs. for an anniversary and she sat us at a terrible table & broke a glass on my girlfriend. We left.
Ask for Steve. Get the house specialty: steak frites. Enjoy a nice cut of meat with a great sauce, topped with tasty fries. The best part? It's endless... so worth it
For the foodie
Jose Garces’s contribution to Philly’s sandwich legacy: the cubano clásico, roast pork and house-cured tasso with Gruyère, mustard, and pickles, plancha-pressed to give the cheese just the right ooze.
Housemade mozzarella, jamon iberico, scallops with chanterelles and finish it off with Spring Verrine for dessert.
Great go to place in Philly. Loved everything!!
The cold tomato soup is so refreshing and good for palette cleansing!
Read meat prices carefully at the deli to avoid sticker shock...jamon iberico is $118/lb!
Call and order the deep dish pizza 45 min before you go or before your reservation so it's ready when you arrive. Delicious!
Food blogger Janice of Gigabiting recommends Garces Trading Company. "The plats du jour feature smartly updated classics such as coq au vin, short rib and oxtail lasagna, and the city’s best paella."
The scalops are a must have. Three to the order but you can order more at $5/each.
Steak frites on Saturday night.
The vichyssoise is beyond excellent.
(Duck) Lyonnaise salad is to die for.... I Love it!!
Try the S'more. Amazing!
