Amazing hotel. If you are there for a special occasion, mention when you check in. We had an amazing room on the 17th floor, dead center of the atrium. Our room gave an amazing view of everything

Fancy hotel that's open to the public. Offers an ambient atmosphere, while also being the home to a multitude of events, most notably the Holiday Ice Show! Right off the Potomac and near everything!

Looking to save a dime...park at any of the nearby parking garages and check out happy hour at any of the nearby (outside resort) restaurants. Grace's is a winner. Public House is also worth a trip fo

Probably one of my favorite hotels, all time. Fancy and awesome. If you can, ask for suite 5-217. Best in the entire hotel. 400 sq foot balcony! Nicest room I've ever been in. Like the Savoy in London

Beautiful hotel that has every amenity under the sun. Great pool and views. The surrounding area is awesome with tons of great restaurants. I suggest eating out because restaurants are very expensive

WARNING: before you book here, make sure that SACM's ceremony is not at the same time, you will suffer checking in and out, won't find parking spaces and almost 20,000 students wondering around 24/7.

This place is awesome. Great staff, nice rooms, attention to detail and an indoor atrium that blows the mind. Convenient to everything by water, shuttle or taxi. This is my new DC go-to place.

This place books out very often. If you can't get a place see if your work colleagues can share a room and get free wifi and use of facilities till a room frees up for you to check into.

Nice spot and plenty of spots around the area to have a good time for adults and families...check it out and let me know what you think!

They had an amazing Christmas program called Ice. The rooms are nice. A huge con is that the bars and restaurants are WAY overpriced! The good news is that you can walk to several restaurants.

Great atmosphere. Recommend sitting by the fountain in the atrium and relax for a while. Rooms without atrium views don't have anything great to look at out the window but room is comfortable.

No housekeeping issues for me, room was clean, air flowed properly, bed was comfy. Do look for the nearest elevator to your room or else be prepared to walk! Well, be prepared to walk anyways. Huge.

They should make maps available at the desk. This place is huge. The rooms are nice and there are breathtaking views of the Potomac if you are lucky to get a room facing that way.

It is expensive, but you have everything you need right in the area. It is pricey for restaurants and drinks though. The hotel also does not accept frequent travel points, so keep this in mind.

Go down to the waterfront to see "The Awakening," public art built into the beach. The man is buried under the sand and his foot, knee, face and hand are part of the playground for kids to play on.

Wear comfy shoes. The place is huge. Also now have Starbucks kiosks and No real Starbucks. Expensive and few restaurants in the hotel. Go out for great deals. Really in the middle of nowhere.

Large convention center..service has been attentive and pleasant except for the staff at the Belvedere lobby bar.....bring comfy shoes as you will be doing a lot of walking.

The food and facilities are great. Loved the room decor. However, I did not have heat in my room or hot water in the bathroom sinks on October 21-23. The hotel did not solve the issue.

I stayed at the Gaylord for the Blogalicious Weekend Conference on October 21-23, 2011. The banquet, bell desk, and concierge were very helpful when I had face to face interactions with them.

I have one sentence to describe the Gaylord: A pretty hotel with good food, friendly staff, NO HEAT in rooms, NO HOT WATER in bathroom sinks in room, poor shuttle service, and lots of drama!

The name "National Harbor" is a bit of a misnomer... Nowhere near DC and there isn't much to do in or around this bio-dome hotel. It's actually probably cheaper to stay downtown too....

Usually empty but obviously federally funded this resort is here to stay. Don't be fooled by the "National Harbor" name the Gaylord is in Maryland and comes with quite a bit of rift raft. Stay indoors Read more

The rooms are definitely not worth this price, at any season. This is the same quality you would get at a Day's Inn, not remotely close to the quality of Vegas or Disneyworld. This is not a resort.
  • Chris M.
    Chris MerkelDecember 28, 2012
If you have to stay here, hit the restaurants outside the resort for real value of dining experience. The prices for food & drink inside are inflated, with low quality and indifferent service at best.

Heres another tip for this place....i get the breakfast buffet..because you dont have a choice...eggs looked I ordered the have to pay extra for the omelet!! Omg...

DO come for ICE plan to relax on the holidays or come early in the season or right after. The hotel is beautiful at night. To save money stay at a hotel nearby.

After using part of the toiletries, rather than replacing them, housekeeping put them nicely back into their presentation spots. Also walk around your floor completely to find the closest elevator.

Avoid the buffet restaurant. Just run. Service was worst I've ever had, to the point where we went to the waiters' station to get drinks ourselves. Many tables were ignored, and it wasn't crowded.

Like the other 4 Gaylord locations at which I've stayed, this one too is overpriced by double, lacking in sincere customer service and absolutely nothing special. Its just big. Avoid if you can.

We chose not to move to another room since it was about 1:00 am and we were leaving very early in the AM and had no energy to pack up all of our stuff. So our bill was reduced by $100.

If you decide to take the Metro from DC to here plan on it being about an hour trip one way. Nice rooms, overpriced restaurants though. Mostly for conventioners

My last post -- I will never stay at the Gaylord again. I hope management uses the Nordstrom model of customer service, revamps its shuttle service, and trains staff to show up when guests complain.

Shower filthy, cleaning supplies left in room, front desk staff condescending. Also walked thru lobby cooridor and heard hotel staff speaking & swearing loudly about guests. Never again Gaylord!

If you're here for the 2011 NAIS show, stop by One Call Nows booth and say hi to Josh. If you're here for anything else, you have to try their carrot cake!!

Nice hotel and view, avoid the breakfast buffet as it's the largest ripoff in the area. $15 for a continental breakfast where all of the bread products were stale.

While the hotel is comfortable and lively, there are a few things lacking. For instance, the workout facility is minuscule compared to the hotel. I don't get it.

The pool also includes an indoor jacuzzi. Perfect to hang out after a workout. Tons of kids during the day so try to get there earlier.

Finally, I complained very early on the morning of October 23 and threatened to write a bad review on social media sites. The staff person then asked if we wanted to move to another room.

For such a nice place (with an $18 resort fee!) I would've expected the guest Wi-Fi to be better. Prepare for disconnect frustrations...

If you're only there for conferences it's much cheaper to use public parking (7+hrs is a flat $11) is. Say hi to my mom "Adelaida" if you visit the Pienza :)

A massive complex that one should avoid unless coming for a convention. It's a great convention hall but is too crowded, expansive, and overpriced for a vacation.

It took four employees to figure out that Gaylord should provide a free car ride to the shuttle after I had been waiting for the King Street Metro more than 40 minutes.

Don't park in the Gaylord's rip-off parking garage unless staying overnight in the hotel. $19 for parking is more than charged in downtown DC!

Great Hotel, ecspecially in the warmer months. The rooms are lovely and you can easily walk to restaurants or the waterfront.
