The Washington Bridge carries six lanes of traffic over the Harlem River in New York City between the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx, connecting 181st Street and Amsterdam Avenue in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan to University Avenue in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx.

    The running / cycling path is on the south side of the bridge, upper level. Runners/walkers on R, cyclists on L, both ways (altho ppl don't always follow that rule). Always go single file.

    Got EZPASS? Off-peak hours = $6 toll, not $8! Peak hours: Mon-Fri @ 6am-9am; 4pm-7pm; Sat-Sun @ Noon-8pm. Have two other person in your car & go to booth w/person to get carpool rate, $2!

    Bike lanes on both sides of the bridge, but not always both open. Schedule is unpredictable. South lane is better bet most of the time & has no stairs; enter ramp at end of 178th St.
