A bit like a funky London dungeon wine bar. Nice decor, people & atmosphere. Recommend for less busier times i.e. 9/10pm weeknights
Disappear in the dark nooks at Gordon's Wine Bar under the arches and share a bottler (or two) of wine with someone you love.
Gordon's is my favourite bar in London, though it gets manic - don't expect to get a seat at 7pm, but get there at 10pm on a Friday or Saturday and you'll generally be able to find a table and enjoy a
Established in 1890. Stepping in feels like travelling back in time. Dark atmosphere with candlelights and walls holding pictures of historical moments of the city. A tasteful selection of wines
Such an awesome atmosphere at London's oldest wine bar.
Best Wine Bar in London. Give it a whirl, leave some room for the excellent cheeses! Get there early!
There's a lot of atmosphere crammed into this place - settle in early to find a seat.
caverns lit by candles, conspiritorial conversations in hushed tones, great wine and cheese - what more could you want from a midweek bottle of wine with a pal?
Head downstairs and check out the fantastic selection of cheese!
Go to Gordon's Wine bar early and order more wine than you think you'll drink. It'll save you fighting through the crowd to get more later.
Such a lovely wine bar
Best and oldest bar in town. Very cozy cellar that's rich with atmosphere and history, plus loads of space outside that's even heated in winter.
You will be lucky if you find a table, especially on Saturdays!!!
The cask Ports are excellent! Thought the food was poor, but it's a wine bar after all.
Great wine and port list. The gothic iron and candles make for an intimate setting. They also do meat and cheese sharing platters... Had many a romantic bottle of wine here and will in future...
go here, buy a bottle and plot sneaky schemes by candlelight under the dark arches
Make sure to check out the blackboard for specials. Great place for a date if you're both into wine. It's always very crowded here so make a reservation upfront.
A lovely place, absolutely great atmosphere and tolerable pricing even for students.
Maybe the most awesome place ever!
Try the Scotch Egg. Seems expensive but is *seriously* the best you've ever had.
Drink Malbec in this great underground wine bar
Great place to meet up with friends - get there early for a table outside.
Best selection of white port in London. Careful - the roof sometimes leaks over the bar...
Love the selection of wines. Nice and cosy too
The most delicious cheeses I have ever eaten and the old Chardonnay made me suffer while they were searching for it. Only two bottles left! Go and have them. 😍
Amazing atmosphere and delicious cheese!
WANT A TABLE? : Then I suggest you get here early... especially on a Saturday afternoon if you want to get a "cheeky fondle in a dark corner" as Barchick suggests!
I like what they've not done with the place!
The oldest wine bar in London is definitely one to try out! Order a cheeseboard to accompany the wines, then sit back and relax after a hard day’s work.
Dont sit near the cheese fridge.
Only the oldest ( and by far the cosiest) wine bar in London.
London's oldest wine bar and an institution. Just go early to avoid crowds. Dungeon-esque and very, very, English. But thankfully with good wines.
Extremely busy inside (especially in winter), so get there early to get a seat. Under the arches is clearly the best...
Amazing selection of expensive wines, go here when you want to feel posh/rich, or are posh/rich.
The only place to go for a glass of wine after work. House red and White are more than decent.
Very cool, but very crowded on the weekends...
Seul bémol: attendre au moins une demie heure avant de trouver une place assise!
