Best view of Manhattan
Beautiful island and great place to spend some hours, ride a bike, make a picnic. If possible, go on a weekday and you will have the island all for yourself. Only 10 min and US$ 2 away from Manhattan.
Take the East River Ferry from Williamsburg for the views of the south of Manhattan, and give yourself a couple of hours to walk around before heading back.
Great to walk around when it's sunny. Avoid at all cost when it rains!

An absolute gem!! Go on the behind the scenes hard hat tour of the new architectural landscaping in progress. Last Friday of the month thru September. Gorgeous views.
Better than Central Park. Great place to get away from the city on a weekend. Go early and beat the rush that comes closer to noon.
Rent Citibikes and cruise around. It's a giant adult playground!

Great for picnics, but there are lots of food trucks on the island now if you don't wanna carry a bunch of stuff. Bring your bikes or rent a bike and go biking all around the perimeter! Nice views.
Get out of heat island Manhattan and enjoy breeze and shade of trees and grasses. Island has been renovated and changing. You might see different scene on island.

Free ferry over and back. Great for families with lots of running room for the kiddies. If you didn't bring a picnic, take advantage of the delicious food trucks. There is also a beer garden.

Grab some food truck treats, take in the view of lower Manhattan, and take a nap on the grass in front of some abandoned houses. New York at its weirdest/finest.

rent a bike to see the entire island quickly. They even have 4 seater bikes!
Wear sunblock and bring a water bottle. Luscious mulberry tree in meadow near the traffic light sculpture, ripe in mid-late July.
If you need a mini vacation from the city, this is the perfect place. Great food, great atmosphere, and the best view.b

Definitely rent a bike (or bring one) if you want to get around the whole island easily.
Beautiful island with lots to do. Free bike riding from 10a-12p everyday. Wonderful view of the city skyline, liberty island and Ellis island. There's food, parks, hammocks, and baseball fields.
Great place to get away from the city for a day! Lots to do, including: art exhibits, biking, hammocks, picnics, food trucks, views of the Freedom Tower, views of the Statue of Liberty and much more.
It's a scam. Most of it closed for maintenance and draft beer very hard to find. :-(

A beautiful place to be on a day they are having an event but I suggest you bring something to sit on because seats are limited.
