Beautiful work of art. Expresses a grandeur bereft from many modern public structures.

I highly recommend the Audio Tour which is only $5 or included with most city passes. It does a great job of explaining everything around the terminal (and why it's not a station)

Best place to buy tickets is under the West Balcony across from track 30. Much shorter lines and lots of machines.

Try taking the train to the Bronx Botanical Garden. This 20-minute ride brings you somewhere that feels so much further away.

Do you know there is Tennis court on one of the floors of Grand Central? Maybe the 4th floor? Open to the public. Vanderbilt courts of something. Courts are affordable by 10pm.

Perfect place for people watching. Visit Meyer's Great Northen for Danish food – try the pork sandwich, you won't regret it.

Stop and appreciate the architecture and the ceiling - just make sure to step out of the way of commuters first!
