Dogs are not allowed off leash but there often are several dogs off-leash in the morning.

Pretty little park on the East River. Come at sunset and admire Manhattan's skyline from Williamsburg's shore.

Sand covers the ground in summer, and if you sit on one of the benches just feet from the waves that crash against the rocks, you can almost pretend you're at the beach. Read more

Do not go here to watch the 4th of July fireworks. You won't see a thing.

Nice place to go and relax from the city. Don't bother going at night, packed with people who couldn't get a motel room 😜

There's a nice little water fountain hiding by the picnic tables. Great for refilling your water bottle after a bike trip up Kent.

Sandwiched between a power plant and five blocks of Domino Sugar factory, and anchored by a 70-foot-tall brick smokestack from a long-gone molasses plant.

This is where people in the hood come to look longingly at the river and cry alone. I see at least one person in tears every time I'm here.
