Grand Haven State Park has a beautiful sandy shore on Lake Michigan along the west side of the park and the Grand River along the north side of the park. The park consists entirely of beach sand and provides scenic views of Lake Michigan and the Grand Haven pier and lighthouse.
Great park to enjoy the great lake.
A little grassy/litter-y, but free street parking was nice!
State parking pass works great
Great beach for flying kites!
New playground for the kids is great fun.
Fun in the winter too!
Nice but very cold here
If you are a MI resident get the recreation tag for your plate. It makes visiting the state parks a breeze.
It's cold and cloudy
Funny, warm and 75
Fishin' on the pier-- channel catfish!
Watch out fort the local high school kids... None of them know how to park or have respect for other peoples vehicles.
Beach is beautiful!!!!!
Great place to enjoy the lake and the waves and the sunshine.
They work to make the park handicap accessible with beach and water wheelchairs so everyone can enjoy the beach.
When applying sun block don't forget the backs of your hands or you will get ridiculous red marks like you've been pissing off 50s school teachers.
On those hot hot days better arrive early if you want a spot to park.
There are no trees, all sand, quite windy, but beautiful!
The water is amazing in march, and a great view for sunsets, romantically or just pure enjoyment. ;-) I'm here alot...I'm the mayor GD it. <3
Don't forget to get your picture taken with the Grand Haven Lighthouse in the background!
In the summer, The Boardwalk is the place to be! For an extra special occasion, go to the Porto Bello Italian Resturant in The Piano Factory nearby! http://enjoyportobello.com/
