People tend to check in during these times:
Weird little park where you can watch the River 1 approach directly overhead.
A great place to come and decompress. Have a cigar smoke and watch the planes at night.
Well known as a great spot to watch the planes take off or land
Relaxing atmosphere for picnicking... Love to see the planes go by. Went here trailing with AylaBrooks a lot.
We actually got to see planes take off this time. It is an awesome experience. Have been here many times. Would recommend to everyone.
A must-do on the DC bucket list!
My favorite place to go think and clear my head
Awesome plane-watching location.
A great spot to watch planes flying to and from DCA.

Very cool place to go watch the planes fly in and out of Reagan.
Who knew watching planes land and take off would be so popular? Based on the number of people here, it sure is! (And I've enjoyed it, too!)
Go meta and instead of taking pictures of planes, take pictures of people taking pictures of planes
Stand by the water on a hot day. Not many shaded areas available.
The park sits right at the end of the main runway for Reagan National Airport.....The Breathtaking View and picturesque take offs and landings make this park a popular picnic site among other things
A great place for planespotters and AvGeeks!
A great place for panespotters!
Barricades blocking entrance.
This park is well known in the aviation community for its view. Pack a lunch and enjoy the experience. Want to find like-minded folks? Search twitter for #planespotting and/or #avgeek. Ur pal, @user47
Hands down best spot to watch landing aircraft, river traffic, sunsets, the DC skyline. It's a marvelous relaxation spot!!
Porta pottys along bike/run path. Handy
Go here for awesome views of planes taking off and landing at Reagan Airport. Great running/bike path too!
Great spot to watch the planes take off and chill. Take a break from your biking or running here. There are port-a-potties here too
Make sure you check the weather to see which way the wind is blowing. As cool as seeing planes take off, it's even cooler to watch them fly over your head and land.
Great views of the planes coming into DCA and the most parking on the GW Parkway
Absolutely amazing place. Great view of DC and an astounding view of planes landing at Reagan.
Awesome place to watch planes take off and land for all those aviation ethusiast.
Great day for a bike ride.
Great place for a summer run!
Good place to watch planes take off and land at National Airport, but stay off the trail unless you want to get (deservedly) run over by a bike or runner.
Wonderful city views and THE place to enjoy July 4 fireworks, but it’s the drama of arriving aircraft at Reagan National just a few hundred feet away that makes Gravelling Point Park unforgettable.
It can be busy on weekends. Bring a blanket & sit under a tree. There are only port-a-pottys here & they are nasty! Bring your own toilet paper & hand sanitizer (there are usually none of either).
Wave at the airplane passengers!
Sit on the sloped grass by the fence facing the airport. Watch the planes come in for a landing right over your head!
Fellow bicyclists, please slow the hell down through here, lots of kids around.
DCA Tower = 119.100 MHz
Catch the breathtaking view of aircraft ascent & descent against the beautiful backdrop of the sky ^_^
Check out the low flying planes landing!
Spectacular views of planes flying into Reagan National Airport. The park is adjacent to the runway, so you are directly underneath the planes landing. Can't miss this exhilarating experience !
The closest you'll get to a plane flying (without being IN it). Very romantic at night - despite being loud.
Lie down on blanket, look up to see planes flying right above you before they land.
Best place to watch the planes on a nice day
Great place for a picnic.
try the planes! best in the DC area!
Go watch some fly fishing from the dock by the GW Parkway.
Duck! The park is at the north end of National Airport. You don't need to wait long to get a great view of a jet plane coming in low and landing at DCA using the "River Visual" approach on Runway 19.
