Located in the historic Hamm Building, we are the second oldest brewery in town. Our restaurant and bar are the perfect place to grab a beer or something to eat before or after any event at the Xcel Center or local theaters. And if you feel like sitting outside, our patio is open a...
St Paul’s Original Taproom. Cask and Draft beer crafted by hand from their own well of Holy water.
The brown ale (Brown Trout) is solid. The rest is... meh. There is better beer downtown now at Tin Whiskers.
Chuck is awesome! The beer is straight og, lots of inebriated per capita beers, bacon beer nuts! Boomshakalaka.
The Tuna Wrap is delicious!
The most popular thing they have is the fish fry. The burgers are a close second, but I wasn't impressed with the other sandwiches.
The St. Andrews Cross Scotch Ale has a great smokey flavor! Yum!
If you like casks, try the Early Season Bear. Very good beer!
Keep in mind, they are unwilling to split your tab because it's just "easier" to put it all on one tab. Easier for who?
Order appetizer and entree when you order the beverage because the service is slooooooooooow
Nice selection of beers. They sell Growlers buuuuut being Minnesota, no Sunday sales.
Happy Hour: Mon-Fri 3pm-6pm & Sun-Fri 10pm-close!
No flights on Excel event nights.
The soup is great and Christina is the best server
Southwest chicken salad is the best!
You know...if you are in need of a GWB fix you can always get the food delivered to your home. Just go to www.bitesquad.com and voila! Happy eatin'
Fish and chips is THE safe bet for food.
The tap beer is the fucking warmest foamiest beer on tap I've ever had. Fucking terrible. Not a refreshing place for Summer. Food looks like shit too. They fucked our bill up too. Fuck this place.
It was ok.
Fish and chips are great. So is the St. Peter pale ale. Love this place.
Worst food and horribly slow service!!!
Cask conditioned is the way to go. Good variety and sooooo smooooooth
The chips served with most sandwich's are FAR better than most.
Sitting outside enjoining a frosty brew. Beers are great.
$2 mimosas and bloody Marys on Sunday from 12-2!
Thought the Blackwater stout was a little light on flavor. Watery...
This place reminds me of the Talking Heads.
Beer on the patio with my dog and a bon fire? Yes!
The cask conditioned Blackwatch Oatmeal Stout was voted the Twin Cities Metro Area's "Sexiest Beer", it's pretty sexy, and tasty! The wild rice burger pairs well with it also.
Go see Chuck at the bar.
The cheese pizza taste like NOTHING else. It's amazing
No bathroom, skip this place.
It's all about cask conditioned ales!
Chicken wild rice soup. Yum!
Marsala chicken is to die for!
Fish and chips are excellent.
Solid water? Red Bull Crashed Ice will go along with that drink in your hand!
Water turns into ice...so check out Red Bull Crashed Ice (Fri 7:30-8:30) (Sat 7:30-9)!
Do not expect customer service. They haven't figured that out yet.
The beer is the reason to go here.. the food is middle of the road. OK, not great.
Best ribs I have had in a long time!
TERRIBLE Reuben- hardly any corned beef, TURKEY on it, hardly toasted bread, the corned beef that WAS on the sandwich was super dry. Go to McGovern's for a rockin Reuben!
Great fish and chips, otherwise have the jambalaya
Food is not going to knock got socks off, but the onion rings are really good. Some of the best around I'd venture. Also of note it the buffalo chicken sandwich.
Get the beer sampler platter to find your favorite brew. (and get snookered in the process)
$2.50 pints after 10pm on Sunday nights!
I'd skip going here. Downtown St. Paul has a bunch of other great spots. My food was one color - as was my friend's.
