Griffith Observatory is sitting on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood in L.A.'s Griffith Park. The observatory is a popular tourist attraction with an extensive array of space and science-related displays.
We had chance to see the tiny venus
closed on Mondays :(
Great views of the city and Hollywood sign. Parking is a bear so get there early.
Bring a camera!!
Top of the world, Ma! There's so many reasons to visit the Observatory - you might forget it's a museum, or a breathtaking way to see Los Angeles, or a place to hike, or a popular movie location.
Great place to spend an afternoon, then choose one of the many walking tracks back down to the park.
Come early on the sunny day to enjoy the sunset and Hollywood sign view
Beautiful view of the city of LA
The view is amazing! Specially in the night. All the city lights!
Come with time to see everything 😁
Beautiful architecture. Hopefully you can catch LA on a less smoggy day.
Being able to see the particles/rays falling through our atmosphere with your own eyes in the new basement blows my friggin mind. It's amazing.
Take your out of town friends here instead of Hollywood
Yrs of lovely, romantic moments here :)...my #1 spot for the most spectacular views of LA! Go watch the sunset, visit Planetarium, & see the stars w/ the lawn telescopes instead of lining up 4 Zeiss.
Great place to take your child and learn. Also great view of LA.
Fun and interesting exhibits
You learn alot about astronomy and you experience some pretty cool stuff.
Parking's a pain in the ass, if you can, take a bus over and walk up otherwise come early. Definitely see the sunset and the shows in the planetarium are absolutely breathtaking, really cheap too!
Absolutely loved being here. Beautiful views and great exhibits. Hike the trails nearby and watch the sunset. Bring a flashlight
Amazing view if you are in LA you got to stop here
Beautiful views, amazing hike to get there.
Great view of the city. Worth the drive
One of the best view in LA
Good for a stroll with family or date
Beautiful building. Beautiful views. Take your kids. Watch the shows.
Great views of LA at night!
Its nice if ur really crazy about science... But on a hot day like this.. Id rather stay home
A must visit, the view is amazing and so much cool scientific stuff and shows.
Best view of LA.
One hour wait for the shuttle. Small and long lines. Don't take it. Walk 1 mile up hill.
Walk to the observatory if you have to. Don't take the shuttle. 1h wait to get there. Walking would be just 20min. The bus is small and the line is long.
Super crowded on Saturday but nice hiking paths
The people working inside are especially friendly and knowledgeable. Make sure to ask them questions and watch them show off exhibits!
A blanket of twinkling city lights at your feet
Loved this place
You should come to Griffith! The view is amazing!
Great place for the kids and adults alike~ great learning experience~
Incredible views, especially at the golden hour. The drive up was breathtaking.
A good view of LA and Hollywood sign. The content of the exhibits could be much better
Everyone should visit this one, if come.for los angeles
Just passing through
Cool place to learn about astronomy. Good view of the Hollywood sign but definitely not the best and you have to wait in a long line to get up there.
Great view of the city!
Beware on sunny days or bank holidays, it can get crowded and the walk from the "extra parking" can be 20 or more minutes. However the views are great. I thought the hollywood sign was bigger.
We spent there a wonderful time last Saturday! There were gorgeous and breathtaking views from the roof) parking is terrible though! But will be going again for sure!😍😍😍
It's a historic landmark and a great place to learn about science
Come take the same picture for Instagram as every other visitor to the east side of LA!
