There's so much more here than just the observatory
The definition of touristy. but so so worth it. Who doesn't love the stars and the lights? You gotta get there early though because the road to the summit bottlenecks like crazy
i smoke wherever i go great place to chief
One HUGE park. Plan out your trip before you come because you can get lost! Park rangers search for lost people several times a year.
Great place to see a view of LA. I can't believe that the city was once small enough that you could actually have an observatory there.
Endless entertainment possibilities here
Arrive early on the weekend, unless you like walking a long distance after parking your car...
love their trails♥ pretty place for picnic too ;)
Perfect place for a picnic
The best views in LA.
Easily my favorite park in LA. It has the best view of LA, especially at night. There are great hikes all around the park. Good views of the Hollywood sign.
Great trails for running
Pick up your trash!!!
If you are leaving the park after 10PM, don't use any other exit route except the road leading to Los Feliz, all gates close @10PM. But if like driving a dark, winding road, then check the routes.
It's always beautifully done
Hiking here is great! You can hike up to the Hollywood sign or through the old LA Zoo. My legs are always killing me after this trail but I love it. The view from the top is AMAZING!!!!!
I come here to bury all of my bodies. Great bird watching too.
It was a beautiful day!
On Volunteer Day 2013 (9/24), UCLA volunteers will participate in Trail restoration, mulching, filling in gopher holes, and maintenance in areas of the park! #BruinsGiveBack
Great BBQ areas
Bathrooms at the top near the observatory. Dogs allowed on leash.
Drive to the top or hike to the top. Kinda crowded near the observatory. Nice sunset.
Hikes are amazing. Bring the dogs, plenty of water, and good shoes.
Get there early parking is limited , you will be force to hike.
For years, the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club has been leading guided hikes through the many trails of Griffith Park.
Visit during the summer months to see a free Shakespeare in the Park performance.
Check out the Ferndell Nature Center, a shady oasis with lush trees acting as a canopy over park benches, making for a quaint getaway from the city.
Are there coyotes in these parts?
This park us such a haven. People who think LA is just about freeways and concrete need to visit Griffith.
Go up on Crystal Springs and Griffith Park Dr. It is where the Old Zoo is at. Check out the remains of the Old Zoo and go up to some great view from the trails.
