Try the street food: from BBQ Chicken & Pork, the local Cau Lao, the national Pho Bo, the excellent Banh Mi (fresh baguette with egg &/or pork), the ubiquitous rice & noodle dishes & fresh juices

Straw sandals' best price in Ancient town is just VND25,000 (about US$1.25). Do not buy at an unfair price :)

Old Town is an absolutely waste of time & money. Mostly shops hawking mass-produced, over-priced tourist crap, Internet cafes, or restaurants serving Western food.
