People tend to check in during these times:
Originally built circa 1828, Randolph Hall was expanded numerous times to include porticos, wings and a tower. These modifications, begun in the 1850s, resulted in the much larger building you see today. It is named for former College president Harrison Randolph(1897 – 1945).
Comedian Stephen Colbert held a rally here in 2012 – were you here? (well, you’ve at least seen pictures, right?)
Stand on the portico and imagine the Cistern Yard full of people watching you. That’s what it will feel like to graduate from the College of Charleston!
One of the oldest continuously used buildings in the U.S., Randolph Hall is also the College’s most recognizable landmark. President Barack Obama gave a campaign speech here in 2008.
