Try the Fried Chicken and Biscuit and spot it on Foodspotting!
Two kinds of fried chicken, fried mashed potatoes, multiple varieties of pie, Boylan’s Soda on draft, and much much more. Come hungry, leave wanting to take a nap. -Nate
The chicken tenders are amazeballs. Pie shakes? Seriously?! Done and done. This place is off the charts.
Pie Happy Hour (M-F, 4-6pm) get a complimentary cup of coffee with any slice of pie and get a second slice at half-price. The Fried Pimento Cheese Sandwich is best before desert.
The Hill Country classic fried chicken is awesome! Crispy and a little bit of smokey sweet. So yummy!
Boylan Fountain Soda with free refills!!!!
Tables downstairs are less crowded and quieter.
Great chicken. Good corn salad. The decor made me feel like Biff was going to walk in and punch me.
The mashed potatoes have French fries in them so be prepared... to never want mashed potatoes anywhere else again.
Pie shakes. Get the pie shakes. Even the weird-sounding flavors (apple cheddar??). So good.
Try the buttermilk biscuits and spot it on Foodspotting!
Downstairs is awesome. Furnished like an 80s den with carpeting and vintage games.
Absolutely killer Chickwich sandwich! Even better with a heavy handed squirt of hot sauce. Spot on!
Eh. Go to Dirty Bird, Pies & Thighs or Blue Ribbon instead.
It's all right. Better off sticking to NY Burger Co
When you're craving a heart attack, try Hill Country. Pretty damned tasty.
You think you don't need a biscuit but guess what? You do.
Best blueberry pie!!
Although some would argue that the only thing better than a warm slice of pie is a warm slice à la mode, New York City’s Hill Country Chicken takes it one step further with the Cowboy Pie Milkshake.
Try the cheesy mashed potatoes. Seriously amazing!
Avoid the wrap & it's flimsy insipid tortilla.
Lots of cozy seating in the basement. Just watch out, the steps will send you through a time warp straight back to the 1970's. Lite-Brite FTW.
Hill Country Chicken specializes in biscuits that go great with sausage gravy, or used for breakfast sandwiches.
I just paid $14 for 2 PBRs. Fuck this place.
The veggie Texas Hand Roll (fried avocado!) with a side of corn and root beer is a vegetarian's dream!
Try the Mama El's Fried Chicken - #crispy #mahongany-lacquered #dark #juicy (via @Foodspotting)
Original fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, cheesy mashed potatoes. This place is a great gourmet fast food option.
Nicest place in NYC. Come here the most.
Try the fried chicken - Delicious! My first meal here - chicken with cheesey mashed potatoea and fire n ice pickles (via @Foodspotting)
I like the strips better than on the bone. Fire & Ice pickles - not fire-y... skip 'em ;)
I fully support any place that gives free refills (on boylans no less). This place of full of gingham, fatty greasy goodness, and win.
Cheesy fried mashed potatoes and fried pimento cheese sandwich. Heaven!
Ben T checks into the place 13 times? It's been open for 7-8 days and he's been there 13 times lol. Stop your cheatin bruh. By the way, get the Mama El chicken with some beans.
Get Mama El's style. Classic isn't worth a dime. The biscuits r amazing.
Holy moly! Opening day was crazy! Line out the door. Wait was ~ 40 min. Cool concept and desserts get a 10+. Buttermilk bourbon pie; say no more. My chicken was good but got cold waiting to pay.
If I could marry their chicken and waffles, I would. Oh and the salted margarita pie is to die for.
Those damn chicken fingers are deep fried crack.
Totally impressed with their double cherry pie and chocolate cream pie. Truly tastes as good as my Mom's! (Sorry mom!)
Biscuit and gravy is a great way to start the morning! Lots of pepper and hunks of sausage.
If you're here, stay calm and get out. Move to the Hill Country Barbeque Market and eat some real stuff.
Food is good, but you gotta check out the rump room downstairs.
