Grab a Bloody Mary from the takeout window and wait because you'll want to eat everything inside. Shrimp and grits, chicken biscuit, pancakes of the day! You can get a short stack of pancakes btw!

The pumpkin bread is AMAZING!!!! The mimosa & the sweet tea is very VERY GOOD!!! The Charleston Nasty Biscuit is AWESOME (The gravy on it makes it so) but the sleeper is the fried eggplant sandwich!!!

Friendly wait staff, great food. I can vouch for the Shrimp étouffée, Big Nasty, Mac n cheese (extra delicious), shrimp n grits (so flavorful), mile high biscuit with jam. It was all so good

Adorable little place that has authentic southern food, served with modern flair. Great sandwiches, fried chix looked ridiculous and a nice selection of specialty beers & cocktails. Great service!

As everyone has said, the charleston nasty biscuit and chocolate pudding are awesome. Plan to share or you'll have to be rolled out of the restaurant.

The best shrimp and grits on the planet, pimento cheese on pretzel bread and the chocolate pudding will blow your mind. I'm still shaking my head 😎

The sweet tea was amazing as well as the Big Nasty. Man vs Food was here and it is well worth it. The side dishes were to die for including the squash, tomato pudding and mashed sweet.

A great option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Big nasty is worth it, but lighter options including fried green tomatoes solid too.

The Big Nasty Biscuit and Gravy is awesome. Try the fried green tomatoes. The sweet tea is one of the best I've had. This place has been featured on all the big Food and Travel shows.

Great grits, biscuits, home fries, and brunch cocktails. About a 20-30 min wait for Sunday brunch. But service was quick and drinks were readily available at the window bar while waiting.

Visited here twice this week and loved it. Shrimp and grits are awesome, country breakfast great, but most of all a very friendly relaxing atmosphere, tremendous staff. Will be back!

A concise menu with delish breakfast options. Put their Huevos Racheros in your mouth. The dinner menu is another story altogether. Food was more salted than seasoned. If that's your pref, go for it

Wow, the big nasty is amazing true southern food! Also, get the chocolate pudding for dessert. Great dark chocolate taste. Love the ambience, worth the long walk from the market!

Try the Fried Green Tomatoes - From lunch on Friday in Charleston. Nicely crisp, not too battered and tart green tomatoes. I liked these. (via @Foodspotting)

Vegetarians, be aware: many of the menu items that appear veg-friendly are cooked traditionally with bacon. That being said, the pinto cakes are totally safe and absolutely amazing!

Came for lunch. Grits were nothing special. Grouper special was good. Sweet potatoes were solid. Swordfish and sauce was terrific. They were out of their famous chocolate pudding. Great service!

Hominy Grill is about as southern as southern can get. It’s a must stop for tourists and locals alike, which is a rare achievement for a restaurant. [Eater 18 Member]

So yummy for brunch, but seriously packed most of the time. Call ahead or at least don't come famished! On Saturday and Sunday the wait is often an hour. Totally worth it though!

The previous recommendations to get the Big Nasty biscuit are dead on. It's fantastic. Add fresh ground black pepper rather than Tabasco, it compliments the sausage gravy better.

The ginger pumpkin bread was perfect, the she crab had clean basic flavors however I got shelled. The Charleston nasty biscuit is definitely hang over worthy. Don't bother with the shrimp and grits

The chocolate pudding should be called dark chocolate pudding. It's enough for four people, but you'll eat for two. A few hazelnut pieces on top would perfect it

Neither very big nor at all nasty, The Big Nasty was a knife and fork-worthy biscuit. The chocolate pudding is indeed what all the reviews say. Very much all-home-made and very tasty.
