HNL is the largest airport in the State of Hawaii and has both interisland, mainland, and international flights.
Only airport in US territory where foreigns and Americans queue the same line to enter the country
No free wifi? Ridiculous.
Very few outlets but if you take the escalators to the second floor by Gate 11 there are many outlets. Sitting on carpet floors is slightly better than sitting on the concrete by the gates.
Really small to walk from the check in area to the gates, you gotta cross an outdoor passage.
you will spend more time outside here than at any other airport
It is just like a big noisy shopping mall without air conditioning. And you are forced to trek through it, dragging all your carry-ons to get to your gate.
They don't sell gum in the airport, so be sure to bring your own for our flight.
Take break in the gardens before your flight!
Airport is a bit outdated and can use a remodel. Open air corridors are a nice touch to allow fresh pacific air through. Either way you just landed in Paradise.
Very welcoming airport with fresh orchids everywhere
Get there early. Your flight might be cancelled.
One of the most unfriendly airports ever - anywhere. Not one airport employee could be bothered to lift a finger to assist or direct a traveler in distress. Total embarrassment and total lack of ALOHA
No gum at this airport so make sure you get some beforehand!
Awesome view from food court!
Open to elements style makes for a light and breezy airport. Food choices are ok, nothing too special.
Nice and clean
Have to pay for using WIFI? Are you kidding?
The Island Air terminal is subpar... If connecting from another airline you have to re-check-in and there is NOTHING around the gates
Hawaii's finest beach is the golden crescent of sand at Hulopoʻe Bay. Enjoy snorkeling in a marine preserve, walking to a fabled archaeological site or just relaxing in the shade of palms.
The gateway to paradise
Waikiki! I just touched down! IT'S MY Birthday Weekend! Taurus What it do! WE DA Besssssssssssssst
Typical airport inside very congested outside.
If you only have small luggage, get the public bus "The Bus" and get into downtown or waikiki for only 2$.
Most of the food choices are in the international terminal. Be sure to read signs about where you are going because it can be confusing.
An hour before your flight is more than enough. This sleepy little airport may not have much but it's not crowded.
Hawaiian airlines lines are a bit confusing at first. All lines go to same search area.
Birds and insects all over the airport. Not to mention that's too hot.
Small airport, like the outside walkways. Kona bar by gate 11.
Travel is only a necessary evil to me... but HNL isn't so bad, until you deal with TSA.
Mahalo for beautiful weather
Allow time for getting your check-in luggage inspected by the agricultural authority
Arrive early to visit the airline lounge garden but don't try to feed the fish and don't throw pennies into the pond. There's a funny sign to this extent
Flying out around 6 or 7pm and later is amazing. The airport will be empty. AND Security is actually polite, like the people mainly are on the island.
Palm trees. That is all you need.
Nice and clean
Nice Chinese garden in the middle of the airport to forget about the fact that you are in an airport leaving hawaii.
Nice airport, lots of shops. Not a lot of eateries though.
The airport is fairly older but has a beautiful garden located on one of the lower levels. I like the whole indoor/outdoor aspect it is really welcoming.
What can I say? It's Hawaii. Flowers and bars everywhere.
La Marianas Tiki bar is a 6 minute cab ride from the airport. A great waterfront layover or first stop drinking spot. Best tiki dive bar in Hawaii. (HNL airport is in the background.)
Disappointing Admirals Club
The most efficient airport... Checking in to United Airlines was a breeze...
Baggage claim is a further walk from where you plane lands but your in Hawaii so it doesn't really matter (;
birds fly in and out. feels like in Japan
Cocktail Lounge at island hop terminal makes mai tais from scratch. Perfect lei over while waiting for next flight.
The airport is beautiful but the Delta staff is horrible. Not helpful and very rude. Beware.
Honolulu cookies! 🍪🍍🍪🍍
Super nice TSA staff!!
