Registering guns takes forever and the parking is pretty frustrating.
There’s limited public parking at the HPD HQ. There are a few metered stalls downstairs on Hotel St. You can also park on Hale Makai, Beretania and King St. Read signs before leaving your vehicle.
If you have an emergency special duty request. The job has to pose potential danger to the public (i.e. water main break, downed power line, etc.). Call: (800)916-1383 for emergency jobs only.
If you're here to make a police report, you have to present a valid picture id. You need a notarized letter of authorization if requesting report for someone else.

Go early to gun permit and registration office to avoid very long lines. Got there with just 2 people in front of me, by the time I was done with my business, the line was approximately 25 people.
Will not register out of state firearms after 3:30pm
