If you're in Vegas, I highly recommend checking out the dam. Lots of great history and worth seeing in person after seeing it in movies all the time. About a 25-30 minute ride from Vegas.

Massive and beautiful. If you're near Vegas, come by and learn about the Colorado river and its history. You'll also recognize two time zones.

The damn is great, but the tour really wasn't that good. It showed only three rooms, one of which was the generators. You can certainly skip the tour.

It's a very cool place to visit! You can jump between Arizona and Nevada, the state line is in the middle of the Dam! Park inside the parking facility and keep your car out of the sun.

You can't reserve the longer $30 tour so get there early to avoid a long wait. Also helps with parking and the heat.

Park the car at Lake Mead and walk to the dam. It's about eight miles round trip but the old railroad tunnels and views are worth the hike

The bridge that they completed within the last few years saves you a ton of time if you're coming in from Arizona and don't want to see all the sites. 50+ mph the whole way.
