The place looks all mysterious and exclusive from the outside - like an old boys' club hotel - but the inside is full of nice staff members, a chill atmosphere and great drinks like the Trophy Wife.

“You absolutely must try one of the specialty cocktails. My recommendation is the Trophy Wife, a mix of cachaça, passion fruit puree, and cava!” More at http://www.partyearth.com/venues/hotel-griffou.

Very cool space in the village, with a warm, eclectic, romantic and trendy ambience. Their cocktails are fantastic too – try the “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” for a post work treat.

The restaurant is named after Marie Griffou—the woman who ran a boardinghouse at the same address. It's been said that Mark Twain used to frequent the Greenwich Village brownstone.
