With its sleek urban lines, distinctive design and prime location in San Francisco's centrally located Japantown, it's easy to see why the Hotel Tomo has an attraction all its own. Surrounded by the shops, boutiques, restaurants and festivals of this vibrant neighborhood, o...
Bought by Kimpton and currently going through a redesign. Nice, modern, comfortable rooms: less anime more modern
If you remember as the Best Western Miyako Inn, this re-invisioned now "Hotel Tomo" is instead part of the Kimpton family. One of only 2 hotels in Japantown and much different from Hotel Kabuki.
Nice and spacious rooms
Only Kimpton I have ever stayed in that does not provide robes.
Bring a spare Ethernet cable with you - may come very handy when wifi is choking. There's a VDSL modem in each room - with a dedicated port - check Ethernet socket on the table with TV.
The back stairs only lead down and out to the sidewalk so no short cuts!
There is a Japanese crepe place (you heard right) across the street called Belly Good Cafe & Crepes. Crepe fixings include mochi, green tea ice cream, red beans, and corn flakes. Have fun.
The staff is so nice and awesome! I loved the room service and decoration. The parking is tight so show up early to get a spot.
the 7th floor is very quiet.
Room walls weren't paper thin like some have said. Chocolates, Perrier and a note in room. Call from front desk to make sure I was pleased. Beautiful neighborhood. What's not to like!
awesome anime-themed hotel in japantown, close to all tourist PoI, book your room upfront for a great price
The all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu here is amazing. Don't miss it!
Ottimo hotel in zona tranquilla: pulito, ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Si trova in Japan Town, quindi se siete amanti del Sushi e cucina Giapponese ve ne toglierete la voglia spendendo poco.
If you like Japanese anime, you'll love this hotel.
Tomo himself leaves a personalized, handwritten welcome note in each room. What's not to like about that?
... the free wifi is also excruciatingly slow.
Decent hotel near charming Fillmore Street. However, the walls are thin so you will hear every sound your neighbor makes.
Dont stay in rm 812...we had the sliding glass door open and I was standing by the tv when all the sudden something hit me in the back...found out the nxt a.m. it was a pellet !
If the rates are high online, call in person. They're usually cheaper! Make sure you get a balcony room too.
Very nice hotel....very good experience!
really cool hotel with arty-manga rooms!
Free Internet access! It kinda chugs though ...
Request a room with a balcony.
feines hotel, mit schicken möbeln.
The hotel is great, but the parking sucks.
if you find your hotel room getting a little chilly, don't be fooled by the "air conditioner" switch next to the thermostat- it actually churns out heat if the weather dips below 65F.
Take advantage of the all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink shabu shabu restaurant downstairs. Only if you like japanese beer and sake (who doesn't?)
