Authentic taste, but not /that/ spicy. Cumin lamb is great, so are the sautéed string beans, hot & sour soup, & dan dan noodles. Bring a group of friends - the portions are massive! A team sport.
Salty, smokey, sour and seriously spicy (rumored more so than Sichuan cuisine) there are some great vegetarian Hunan delicacies like the stir-fry of smoked bamboo that could even rival meat dishes!
Questionable front of the house service, but worth the wait! The hype on the cumin lamb and bbq fish is well deserved. Also had the eggplant caserole (more fried eggplant than a caserole).Comin back!
The numbing, tingly assault of the Sichuan peppercorn, also chile peppers, dried, pickled, or preserved; pork, duck, bamboo, beef, which becomes something akin to jerky.
We had Steamed Spare Ribs with Bamboo Shoot, Sautéed Pork Stomach with Smoked Bamboo, Lamb with Cumin Flavor, White Pepper Smoked Beef, and Hunan Style Smoked Duck. All extremely delicious.
