This has to be one of the best bridges for a view of London. Look out for Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the London Eye on one side and St. Pauls, Somerset House and the Gherkin on the other.

The original bridge here was a suspension foot bridge by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, opened in 1845. When it became a rail bridge, the chains were reused to complete his Clifton Suspension Bridge.

So that's what these bridges are called... Gorgeous views. East or west? Choose wisely, or you might have to walk across a few times.

These award-winning footbridges opened in 2002. The engineers had to contend with the Bakerloo Line just under the river, and the risk of unexploded WW2 bombs in the riverbed!

Like many Londoners you'll walk across the same bridge over and over before realising there's one on the opposite side of the train bridge!
