Modern, pleasant airport that is easy to navigate. Check out some of the many business lounges for comfortable seating. Your credit card may give you free access or pay a small fee for access.

Enjoy your stay at Indira Gandhi International Airport in the newly opened Lufthansa lounge (Terminal 3). At almost 350 square metres, it offers you plenty of space to relax before your flight.

To really get a taste of the original Delhi, visit Chandni Chowk & Chawri Bazaar. Eat the famous chaat & visit the Paranthewali Gali in Chandni Chowk & just roam the streets to soak up the atmosphere.

Prepaid Cabs are the way to go. You pay, get your receipt, and go right to the station where your car is waiting. Don't listen to any of the hustlers outside. Make a beeline with your receipt in hand

You might miss it but the travelators are hidden to the left of the terminal walkways. Also, the carpet is way more comfortable to sit on than the chairs :)

This place is a paragon of efficiency much to the contrast of the state of travel in India more broadly. Check out some of the sculpture work in the terminals like this sun salutation sequence.

Must visit: The Red Fort, so named because of the extensive use of red sandstone in its boundary walls, showcases a very high level of art form and ornamental work definitely worth a visit.

Be sure to have a printed copy of your e-ticket or boarding pass before arriving at the airport. I always forget it's required for entry to the terminal. Luckily, the porter sorted it all out for me.

One of the largest and best managed airports of the country but despite that the lounges are always full at peak hours so be sure to get there on time for your flight!!

Modern and clean, but the signs are not always clear. Some of the staff are courteous because they know the check-in procedure is confusing, while others could care less. So much for hospitality.

The terminal has plenty of food and shops to help you pass the time before departure. The sky team lounge is minimal but clean and comfortable, with very courteous staff.

Remember this is a 3rd world country. For that reason alone this airport scores well. Lots of seating all around and lounge chairs near the gate area to catch some shut eye of needed!!

The first bribe you will pay on setting foot in India is at the IGI Airport Customs to officials who deserve a cut of your hard worked money so their afternoon can have the luxury of chewing tobacco.

just give yourself enough time as there is always a state of pandemonium for no good reason everywhere(please fix the air conditioning). Lounges can be accessed via escalators in front of duty free.

Print out of ETicket is needed! If you don't have it you "have to print it from the official printing station for 30 Rubees" (Surprise!) And the business / VIP lounge doesn't have free internet!

MUST DO: Non-Indian nationals exiting here are required to change their rupees to US dollars before the immigration. Make sure to keep some small amount if you want to eat or buy something inside.

PeoTip: You have to put one of these tags on your hand luggage to be stamped by security as they won't let your bag on the flight in India without it, even if you're carrying on.

You can now buy alcohol at T3. But if you ask them for, let's say, Red Label or regular Black Dog or Chivas Regal or Absolut the answer will be 'no'.

Well maintained, but watch out for long queues at immigration and security checks. If you start from or plan a transit here, make sure to have at least 1.5 hours in hand. Free wifi is good speed.

Best airport in India. To reach city airport express takes you to the centre of Delhi but few people seem to use it. At 30-150 INR (0.5 - 2.5 USD) pittance by world standards (15-35 USD at Heathrow)

If you are connecting in an early morning flight after arriving in an intl flight, hang around outside arrivals hall since domestic checkin starts only at 3:30 AM & visitors lounge gets crowded

Super frustrating. You can't get into the airport without a printed eticket! The ladies' security scan queue takes ages. Make sure you keep your boarding card with you as they have to stamp it

Arrival here feels like you get out of a time machine and are back in the 1960s. C'mon, India, it's your capital's international airport. Upkeep to keep face is a no-brainer. First impressions matter.

For people considering getting a Matrix SIM, beware. They are big cheats, you are much better off getting a local SIM from the country you are visiting. I've tried it everywhere & it's always cheaper

Major attractions to watch out for, Red Fort and Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar in New Delhi. Lotus Temple and Akshardham Temple are not to be missed.

Big, crowed, but convenient. I was strictly checked at the airport entrance as the more security concern in India.

A lot of carpets. You need to have working mobile phone, to get password to Wi-Fi. There is prepaid taxi on the left hand, just before exit.

The Lounge B is located in a non-obvious spot. It's reachable through a narrow alley & a lift. No announcement of flights in the airport. Silver Kris please put a monitor displaying flight status.

If you are in the international terminal and are boarding a flight in a gate number lower than 15, be prepared to walk 5-20 minutes. Each gate is spaced so far apart.

You can get free wifi at the airport departures. Select Tata, provide your mobile number ( any country) and they text you logins. Free for 45 mins. Shame Starbucks doesn't offer wifi.

To transfer from T3 > T1 for free, present your last boarding pass to a guy sitting by pillar 12.He will give you a handwritten slip. The shuttle runs every 20 mins officially, but don't count on it.

Use the metro from New Delhi railway station to reach the airport via public transport. Do give yourself 2-3 hours for int'l flights. The shops are great to pass time.
