Famous for Yakitori but they also have a very impressive selection of sake
So amazing. So amazing. Wish there was something this good in the city.
Smart drugs in food form.
Great for a fun date night!
Romantic, yummy food, great service.
Bacon wrapped mochi! Minced chicken with egg yolk! Stand at the bar to avoid paying the $6/pp service charge.
Bacon wrapped mochi is a must order! Really cool spot for a date.
Get the bacon-wrapped mochi, the squid ink fried rice and chicken knee cartilage.
Come with a japanese friend so you can really appreciate the food! Great atmosphere!
Amazing tavern style Japanese. Everything is delicious - especially skewers of assorted chicken parts. Extensive Japanese drinks menu & very knowledgeable staff.
This place reminds me of japan. From the atmosphere to the waitress to the interior design. A must go for all foodie. Only place I no in the bay area to serve raw chicken and it tasted delicious
Cosy and delicious Izakaya over in Berkeley. The raw chicken sounds scary but it's delicious. As are all the grilled meats and veggies
Loved the mackerel, the chicken skin, and the chicken neck. The fattiness is perfectly countered with a clean Japanese beer like Asahi.
Get the okra
Some of the best yakitori in the United States
The squid ink fried rice tastes heavenly. So is the bacon-wrapped mochi and gyu tan. Make sure to reserve beforehand!
Be prepared to wait and for slow appetizer service at the bar. It's been 45 minutes since the maitre'd told us 20 minutes, and our appetizers took twenty minutes to come.
The fresh fruit cocktails are strong and delicious. I love the thigh oysters and chicken knees! The whole grilled squid is also amazing.
Try the cow tung and the yakionigiri. Great place with a really nice atmosphere.
Pretty authentic - the ambiance, the food, and the portion! It's like you're dining in Japan! Try chicken heart yakitori with tare sauce. Delicious!
The uni is good. The beers are large. The staff is very friendly. Wanted to try the ink fried rice but they serve it on Wednesday and we came on soba Tuesday. The menu was a little complicated for me
Great japanese tapas. Quail eggs, karaage, cabbage and miso paste (:
It was pricey, but the atmosphere and the foods that you can't get anywhere else made up for it.
They used to have soba for lunch on Friday and Saturday. But now it's for dinner on Monday and Tuesday :(
Yakitori is awesome. Check out the chicken tartare on the secret menu.
Bacon-wrapped mochi and umeshu on the rocks. Be sure to make a reservation!
We're considering building a shrine to the grilled squid. Absolutely exquisite, as was all the yakitori we tasted.
Grilled squid OMG
It's all about BACON WRAPPED MOCHI. I loved their dessert. Very trendy and intimate environment.
The best squid ever !!
The best selection of Japanese alcohol in Northern California. The staff is great and can guide you based on your tastes.
The pork stew and chicken skin were amazing! Everything was stellar. I tired chicken heart and tail and was blown away!
Gotta have the bacon wrapped grilled mochi and the dungeoness crab corquets
Awesome small plates and very interesting desserts!
Bacon wrapped grilled mochi is so amazing that after nearly a month back in the UK, still 20% of my brain is trying to figure out ways to get more. :)
Get the asparagus and bacon yakitori. You won't regret it!
Try to avoid sitting by the grill or else factor in another shower and the dry cleaning cost to the bill.
Black sesame ice cream. Do it.
Ten Zaru Soba is on the list of 21 best noodle bowls by San Francisco Magazine
Top 3 faves: bacon wrapped mochi, pork belly skewers, and chicken oyster skewers. Must get all three!!
Very solid izakaya, worth the BART ride from SF.
It was once great. We came all the time. It is now woefully inadequate. Disinterested service, drunk cooks, average food, and a woefully under engineered hood make for an undesirable experience.
Ten Zaru Soba
They don't have forks, yes really.
40 min wait. Make reservations!
