This place reminds me of japan. From the atmosphere to the waitress to the interior design. A must go for all foodie. Only place I no in the bay area to serve raw chicken and it tasted delicious

Cosy and delicious Izakaya over in Berkeley. The raw chicken sounds scary but it's delicious. As are all the grilled meats and veggies

Loved the mackerel, the chicken skin, and the chicken neck. The fattiness is perfectly countered with a clean Japanese beer like Asahi.

Be prepared to wait and for slow appetizer service at the bar. It's been 45 minutes since the maitre'd told us 20 minutes, and our appetizers took twenty minutes to come.

The uni is good. The beers are large. The staff is very friendly. Wanted to try the ink fried rice but they serve it on Wednesday and we came on soba Tuesday. The menu was a little complicated for me

It was pricey, but the atmosphere and the foods that you can't get anywhere else made up for it.

It was once great. We came all the time. It is now woefully inadequate. Disinterested service, drunk cooks, average food, and a woefully under engineered hood make for an undesirable experience.
