Istanbul is famous for traditional Hammams. Visit the Cemberlita Hammam in the old town of Istanbul for example. It was built 400 years ago and renovated lately - but the historic flair still remains.

Welcome to Istanbul! If you haven’t planned out your stay here yet, consider starting with The Hagia Sophia. Cathedral, mosque, and museum; one of the World’s Great Wonders!

Either get free wifi by withdrawing close to the international transfer desk or go upstairs and pay an excruciating $15 USD (1-day access but which you can share with as many people as you like :D)

I've been in dozen lounges across the world and I can admit Turkish Airlines lounge is best lounge I've ever stay: the spaces, variety of snacks, deserts, drinks and meals, baggage storage, kids zone

Always make sure u use the passport control for business class( if u travel business) & after u checkin. This is just on your left as you enter the airport😊. So fast and easy. lounge food the best!👍

Awesome airport. Near to the city center. You can get to center easily using underground train, buses and taxi. There are too much security check points. Arrive to airport 2 hours before your flight.

For first comers; try to get or ask your hoster to send you a red card given on board for biz class to bypass long passport que of foreigners through the biz counter on far right end on your arrival!

Lounge entry prices are much cheaper than in the European Airports. Duty Free shops have great offers for good cigars. If you don't want to wait follow the 'Turkish Citizens' 4 the passport queues..

A busy airport with below average facilities. WiFi not available everywhere. The Business Class lounges are far away from the gates. Food court is too congested. Airport staff doesn't speak English.

IST you can use some signs around the gate areas to navigate arriving passengers towards the main hall, shopping area, & lounges! There aren't always airport staff around to ask which direction to go!

Wifi works but I didn't find it to be free while I was there (10 lira for an hour). Also the e-visa machines don't work so well. Save yourself sometime and go to the counter (make sure you have cash)

A very big airport with a quite big DutyFree area. Very crowded, expect delays and add more time for check-in and customs with long lines in passport control. It has the best lounge in the world.

Tip: there is a smoking place after passport control. Its on the terrance, close to the Kitchenette. There are some several places where you can find free wifi. The best connection to centre is metro.

If you want some quiet space while you wait go to the area in front of the terminal hotel. Quiet and tables to sit and work. Good court is on one end of the terminal, the hotel at the other end.

In Terminal I ( international ), the best food court is the one the employees eat at. Before passport control, take elevators behind 'E' check-in counter to 2F. Pasta was good.

At international arrivals' waiting spot: on the column to the left there is an electric plug on the bottom, hidden under cover! Ideal to charge your iPhone while waiting to meet someone for long time!

You can buy internet access at the food court - but don't let them trick you into buying more than one access username and password cause it's one and the same ... So you and your friends can share!

Good, not very comfortable for travelers. More chairs and more screens displaying arrival and departure times would be nice. Some flights get delayed. Busy airport, I hope you won't miss your flight.

Exchange rates are crazy. If you need Turkish Liras for transportation, 50 EUR max. would be sufficient enough to go somewhere central and exchange your money there. Taxis accept EUR and USD as well. Read more

If you're flying to the US/Canada/Israel/UK, arrive at least 3 hours early, if not more--you'll pass through 2 security checkpoints (with long lines) and get questioned twice (check-in and gate).

Passport control lines are usually very long. You can use the fast line if you have a gold Star Alliance miles card. You're supposed to get a Fast Track Card from the Celebi Transfer Desk first.

When the passport control VISA 1 is too crowded go to VISA 2. Though it is usually only for some african countriesy the custom officers do not seem to care and it might save you an hour of waiting.
