St. Antoine Church, also known as St Anthony of Padua, may be the most famous Roman Catholic establishment in Istanbul, especially due to its prominent location near the center of Istiklal Avenue.

It's a very nice pedestrian street with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. However, I found it a bit disturbing that you get harassed by some shop owners who keep following you as you walk

Trams started to operate in İstanbul at 1871 and the one on İstiklal Avenue became active at 1883. Until 1914 all the trams were pulled by horses. Later they were all electrified...

Take a tram, visit churches, the flower passage, eat where the locals eat, shop in brand name stores, explore antique hives and visit museums. This is where it all happens in Istanbul

Buzzing, vibrant street with tons of food vendors, cafes and sweet shops. Similar crowds to Oxford Street in London (so if you don't like people, avoid!) Be careful of fast motorbikes and cars.

Pedestranian Street in the middle of OldTown. Quite long. During day, it is a shopping area; during night, it turns to be an oasis for bars, restaurants and clubs.
