    The train goes to Terminal 1 first; if you're going to Terminal 8 or 7, hop off at T1 and cross to the other line in the other direction.

    The BEST way to get to JFK. Take the LIRR from Penn to Jamaica and take the AirTran right to your terminal for $13.25 in about an hour. Free between terminals.

    I take a $6 taxi from my house to 7th Ave/53rd st E train stop, use my metro card for the subway $2.50 take the E uptown and queens to Sutphin Blvd. and take the airtrain $5 and it only takes an hour!

    The train goes to terminal 1 and then 2. Terminal 8 will be the last stop. Switch to the other track at terminal 1 for faster access to terminal 8. Time is money :D

    AirTrain is supposed to run every 7 minutes. But it actually runs every 15 minutes... Budget extra time!

    LIRR from Brooklyn to JFK is 22 minutes and $4 (weekend City ticket). Fastest, cheapest option. (Subway is 60 min + and cab is $50+)

    DO NOT give your unlimited/weekly passes away to the people who ask for them. They turn & sell them to make quick booze/drug bucks. It's a real problem in the elevators & now, even on subway level.

    If you're going to terminals 8 or 9, get off at terminal 1 and switch to the train across the track that circles the terminals in the opposite direction. You'll save 3-8 minutes.

    If you live in Park Slope / Cobble Holl / F Greene the LIRR to the AirTrain is the only way to go to JFK. No good way by car.

    If you're coming from / going to Long Island, there's no question that the AirTrain is the best way to/from JFK. Even better and more convenient than flying from Islip!

    If you are going to Terminal 8, get off at Terminal 1 and crossover to the other track. Terminal 8 will be the next stop.

    Terminal 8 is about 25 minutes on the airtrain from the subway. Terminal 1 is about 7.

    Jamaica station has a map of where the terminals and airlines are located at JFK (for exiting the AirTrain). It's a simpler station than Penn by far!

    if you need a pitstop, there are Bank ATMs a chain Drug Store and other necessities at street level, come out of the LlRR station and turn left.

    Theres a 30 day $40 unlimited air train pass you can buy from the machines. If you work at JFK or travel frequently, it's a huge money saver!

    If you're coming from the city, take the subway to Penn Station, then take the LIRR to Jamaica and hop on the Air Train and you're at JFK in half the time any cab or A train could get you there!

    10-ride AirTrain ticket is good for 1 year. Regardless of date shown on the card. Seems some groups share a card.

    It's not as bad as you'd think, especially not during the day. They are building up the area. Airtrain to LIRR takes 40 min, Airtrain to E takes 50 min, and same if you take the J to lower Manhattan

    Becareful when transfering to the subway or buses here. This area is NOT SAFE. People get robbed here all the time. Stay in groups and take the LIRR if you can.
