Italian roast pork with extra sharp provolone. Don't forget the peppers at the condiments stand out.
I'm not sure it lived up to the expectation. Definitely get it (cheese steak) w sharp cheese. Good for ppl w fat aversion as it was not greasy at all (disappointed). Fries undercooked. Overpriced.
Best roast pork you can get!
Italian Roast Pork sandwich with sharp provolone and spinach. Your really can't go wrong with any sandwich here. I've been coming here since this place was the only thing in the area. Great spot !!
Now open til 7pm. All around a great place. I'd give the roast pork edge to DeNics only slightly, but still my favorite cheesesteak in Philly. Cash only!
From the grill or the stove, John's is a great stop for some great cheesesteaks and pork grinders.
Try the roast beef. Its as incredible as the pork!
Get the Roast Pork & the Cheesesteak.....it's better to get both than pick one.
Roast pork hoagie!
Even better than hype suggests it is. Roast pork with spinach and sharp provolone. Cheesesteak is solid (sesame seed bun). Cash only
Came here in search of a better cheesesteak, did not disappoint. The roast port is pretty different than a steak, but pretty tasty. The sharp prov is a nice touch, as are the long hots.
The best cheesesteak in south Philly!
Never had a bad sandwich here
You know what's good, chief
Hands down the best Philly Steak and cheese sandwich I have ever had.
Great cheesesteak, but obviously it's the juicy roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe that will make you want to venture into deep South Philly.
If you're not trying to check off "Philly cheesesteak" from your list, get the roast pork with sharp provolone. It is amazing and totally worth passing on a cheesesteak ;)
It was iight.
A great place for a cheesesteak, but John’s Roast Pork is more well-known for their mouth-watering roast pork sandwiches.
Get the Roast Pork
Roast Pork with mild provolone is amazing!!
Pork sandwich with spinach and extra sharp provolone is the best I've had.
Try the Cheesesteak Sandwich - With American Cheese and fried onions. This might be the best I've ever had.
Try the Roast Pork Sandwich with Sharp Provolone & Spinach - Awesome
The roast pork is great the only thing that it doesn't travel well, eat it as soon that you get it.
Did some research while traveling around Philly and was not disappointed. The roast pork Italiano is the closest thing to perfection I've ever had. Simple and unexpected. The best food in Philly.
Best roast pork I've had in Philly.
You can sit outside and have a chat with John's mother... And the pork, sharp, with greens is delectable.
Don't do that wit/witout nonsense they make you do at lesser, Xenophobic cheesesteak shops
By far the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia. Also, the sharp provolone and roast pork...AMAZING
Awesome!!! Get the honeymustard chicken steak.
Now open on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4pm. Hands down the best in Philly
Sure, they have great pork sandwiches. But don't let the name fool you, this place has an awesome cheesesteak as well.
Cheesesteak, sharp provolone, and onions. Best in Philadelphia. Rolls are amazing and the steak is delicious.
I was called 'baby' when handed my sandwich. And I liked it.
Taking a walk on the wild side? Grab a pizza, bacon, mushroom, or bruschetta steak!
Been here twice. Once to have a cheesesteak and once to have a roast pork sandwich. Without the addition of the spinach, the roast pork would be average, and the cheesesteaks are not good. Meh.
John’s is best visited on a day that you are really hungry. Monday-Friday daytime only hours. –SM
There is nothing better than a roast pork sandwich with an ice cold rootbeer! 'Cept maybe getting to John's on time to enjoy just that!
Try the Roast Beef Sanwich - the pork with sharp and spinach.... amazing
Try the Large Pork With Spinach - the pork with sharp and spinach.... amazing
You can't go wrong with the pork or roast beef sandwiches! just don't forget the cheese and spinach!
Now open Saturdays!
The “Ultimate Cheesesteak” is a little part of South Philadelphia history. John’s has been in business since 1930.
Try the cheesesteak hoagie!! Adam Richman was here with us!! Too cool.
