Get there early to beat the crowds, but stay late to get the best lighting for photography of that waterfall! It can end up in the shade in the morning :-)

"Skip the hordes and head a half-hour south here, where the redwood forest is prettier and quieter. Hike Ewoldsen Trail, a five-miler with long stretches of uphill but amazing terrain." Read more

Don't miss the postcard picture. It's quite difficult to access to the beach.

Ewoldsen trail loop is a great one. Can get very hot though as you climb about 1400 ft, but views are worth it!

The hike up to the top of the ridge offers spectacular views. Well worth the strain!

Helluvah sunset on the california coast. It's a little over 3 hours south of Monterey if you''re also taking the "17 mile drive scenic route".

You can park along the highway for free if you don't want to pay $10 for parking.

The waterfall view hike is 1/4 mile and there are other short trails in the area. There are no trails to the waterfall. The drive there and back can be nauseating
