This tucked-away East side bistro is well worth the trip for its romantic outdoor space, well-executed classic French cuisine, & reasonably-priced wine list. [Eater 38 Member]
Go to Justine's Brasserie and
Try the Escargots à la Bourguignonne!
Have the duck with a bottle of the house red. It will take you straight to Paris...without the language barrier.
Cool as shit!!!
The steak tartare is amazing. Dragon breath ensures you won't be making out with anybody afterwards.
We know, we know, you'll never eat snails, but the sauce on the escargos is so outstanding that you'll forget you're eating a mollusk with only one foot.
My favorite in Austin. Hands down.
The French onion soup was amazing!
the jaded new yorkers can throw a stone from any neighborhood and hit 5 restaurants better than this.
Great french food!
have the house red wine...corbieres. great!
only French place in Austin
To the jackass that wrote about 'Jaded New Yorkers'... WRONG! JUSTINE'S Is INCREDIBLE! Oh, and good luck trying to throw a stone in NYC... (dummy!)
Real vinyl blues ;) lovely place
Duck is fantastic!
Great atmosphere! The escargot is amazing.
Had the steak tartare and the crab salad; both delicious choices and portion sizes are reasonable! Love love love the atmosphere too!
the bartender djs vinyl behind the bar & it's always great!
Stay for a game of bocce, the court is almost always empty
Pretty far on East Side, but worth it. Make a great Old Fashioned and spin only vinyl - very cool.
Go for the wine, but avoid the cocktails. Shaken Sazaracs and Sidecars with lime juice have no place on a cocktail menu. The $5 house red is a great choice.
Waited so long for our check that we seriously contemplated walking out on this meh food.
Try the escargot
Perhaps, this is the best restaurant in Austin! :-)
Don't miss the espresso martini...incredible.
not the only French place in austin (response to previous tip..) ... only know this because I was just corrected after telling a few ppl. just saying.
Get the escargot. Perfectly cooked, superb garlic oil.
Steak tartar amazing. Pork chops awesome. Snapper to die for. Escargot is legit.
Try the Striped Bass with Greenbeans and spot it on Foodspotting!
No 2 hour wait if you go on Sunday!
Just decadent. Steak tartare. Escargot. Really good fries. fizzy drinks. cinnamon sorbet. !!!!!!
come prepared with a book, earplugs, a flyswatter, and personal fan
Unique, East side hipster'ish hangout. Amazing food and drinks, lovely atmosphere and ambiance.
All I'm going to say: côte de porc.
Try the escargot and the pork chops. A change of pace and great place to try with friends or the visiting family.
Incredible atmosphere, great cocktails, delicious French food and vinyl records get spun behind the bar. Hands down, the coolest restaurant / bar in Austin.
Try the Poached Pear with Wine Gels & Caramel Cocoa Sherbet - #Scrumptious combination! Perfectly poached pear & sherbet isn't too #sweet, unlike the wine gels. (via @Foodspotting)
Enfante, Sidecar, French 76
the pork chops are GREAT!The man who seated us was god-awful. I think his name was Justin. He had the audacity to ask if the restaurant was out of my budget, judgemental prick! good food though
Best damn cool restaurant / cocktail bar in Austin - period.
Honestly this is probably my all time favorite restaurant. I love their St. Jardine and the escargot is delicious. Even the burger is fantastic.
Fear not if you're a vegetarian. Their ratatouille is to die for. The entreé size is more than enough to fill your belly. Onion soup was also amazing.
A fantastic burger eaten outside under string lights with a warm spring breeze blowing through.
Food is good but you go for the ambiance. Sit outside, drink some wine and play petanque
