    I fell in love with this airport... There r no windows it is really nice n calmed... And the staff r really friendly. Just b prepare when u travel@night, bring ur bug repellent lots of mosquito's ✈😁

    Don't stand in the check-in line with the lemurs for Hawaiian. Check-in on your phone, walk to the far left and walk up with no line to the web check in counter. Add a bag if needed. Easy.

    There's a small cardboard mailbox in the news stand to the right when you come up the escalators! Send your postcards out there... Maybe buy an ice cream to say thank you. :)

    If you're considering making the trip to Hana, do your self a HUGE favor and rent a Jeep instead of a compact or even mid sized car....it's WAY MORE THAN WORTH IT!

    Come here often unless of course you already live in Maui. It's a very easy airport to navigate but remember that your bags will be scanned again before entering your gate area.

    For long layovers, easy to get taxi to/from Kahului town for food and bars. Recommend Bistro Casanova for great happy hour and tapas!

    They have a sign that specifically directs you to the cocktails. Impressive. The signage pointing to baggage claim is much less so.

    At some point in the past year the security area received a much-needed reconfiguration. Compared to how awful it has been for the past decade, security is now refreshingly efficient and painless.

    Massage chairs between Gate 19 and Gate 17-18 have a power outlet available. There is also a double power outlet to the right of Gate 19, in the end of the carpeted window seat.

    Small, easy airport to navigate. The central courtyard has everything you might need before you head off to either low or high gates. Main thing there is Starbucks!

    Its a really nice open air airport, But it it does not have any descent food venues. Don't pan on food items unless your all about fast food and ice cream;)

    Airport does a second screening at the gate for produce. Like all airports, souvenirs are more expensive - recommend buying your Hawaiian items from the locals :)

    Theyre on Maui time! No rushing allowed! They treat you with aloha so just stay relaxed and don't come ready to rush around the airport! :)

    Gift stores and food are right after security. Once you walk further down to your gate it's slim pickings for convenience stores and food.

    Nice new food court (Burger King, Calufornia Pizza Kitchen, Pinkberry) with ridiculously high prices, even for Maui. Also a new Sammy Hagar themed bar/restaurant.

    When ever in Hawaii and you want a sweet treat go to Starbucks and get a vanilla bean Frappachino with coconut syrup!!! Yum yum yum

    Yes! You have to do it again! Despite the TSA and 2 agro checks (luggage, then carry on), it's surprisingly fast. The mainland airports should take a page from their book. No smiles but good @ the job

    As of July 2013, electronic boarding passes are not accepted at the Security Checkpoint, so make sure to get your printed boarding pass to avoid having to go back out after a long lineup!

    You couldn't really find anything disappointing about this airport due to the fact that it's in one of the most relaxing spots in the world!

    Use the side security checkpoint that leads up to the shops and restaurant. Faster, shorter line. :)

    Traveling with kids and bags to check? Don't waste your time in line. Use a porter to make your life much easier. Don't forget to tip a few bucks per bag for the convenience.

    There are TWO inspection points, so just plan accordingly: one is regular security, and the other is for agriculture and fruit inspection.

    Arrive early if you're flying back to the Mainland. They board early and everyone fills their carry-ons with souvenirs.

    Mamas Fish House is pretty spendy at night. Go there for lunch and enjoy the food, view and hospitality. Love it here!

    Charge your phone before your flight out. There's only ~5 electrical outlets in the whole airport.

    If you're hungry the CPK is decent, and won't a**-rape you $16 for a whopper like the Burger King. The restaurants are air conditioned, unlike the rest of the airport.

    SpeediShuttle has a kiosk in baggage claim offering shared ride shuttles to the resorts cheaper than taxi's. New Mercedes Sprinters that leave every 20 minutes. Cool. Read more

    Welcome to Maui! This open air airport seems too small for the amount of traffic that passes through. Expect long lines. They do a decent job trying to speed things up however. Read about why its OGG.

    Check in booths for some airlines are closed for most of the afternoon unless they have outgoing flights. if you need to speak to an agent make sure it's at a time when they're around.

    Only one flight leaves from Maui a day through US Airlines. Not the best when you check out of your hotel at noon and the flight doesn't leave till 10:30pm!

    If you need a magazine for the plane, buy it before you get to the airport. There's only one newstand at this airport and it is small, creepy, and cash only.

    First trip to hawaii, I experienced none of the Hawaiian charm id heard about until after I left the airport. None of the staff was polite or even half nice . Couldn't wait to leave to the island

    Nice airport, but extremely long security lines, every year I go, only 2 or 3 people checking IDs to get to the scanner. Pat downs are a breeze.

    No TSA-Pre or Priority lines at TSA checkpoint, so come to the airport at least 90 minutes prior to departure on a busy day (Saturday midday)

    Car rental offices are at the far end after the luggage carousels. They shuttle you to the actual office/lot behind that building.

    TSA is much faster at #OGG #KahuluiAirport than at #KOA. Thx to an additional TSA security line added last year. TSA took less than 10 min. Vs. 1/2 hr at #KOA

    The stores don't open until 8:30-9am so if you are expecting to buy souvenirs and have an early flight, buy the leis and the macadamias before you get here

    If u fly united, the play a "halfway to Hawaii" and u have to guess the time of the halfway point from where you departed. Kinda fun but, you have to use your math skills.

    The airport is currently getting a reroofing makeover. Going from a nice burnt red color to a crappy green paint job!! So much for upgrading!!

    Not happy with United. We paid $130 extra just to sit together, even though both tickets were booked together. They put you in an exit row and call it "economy plus". Seats have "limited recline".

    Definitely check-in online if possible. There is no free WiFi. The security is quite slow and the line is looong. At least the TSA is friendly here.

    It's always depressing leaving Maui, but usually there's a band playing Hawaiian music by the security lines to the gates -makes it a little less painful.

    Yea and if it weren't for rich haoles coming here, you most likely wouldn't have shopping malls, car dealerships, restaurants, banks, internet, cell phones..you know stuff you utilize almost every day

    Security Checkpoint Line can be long, but moves quickly. Unfortunately, OGG doesn't have TSA Pre-Check.

    Excellent restrooms here. Clean and the stalls are very European. That is to say, feels like you have privacy when you're a-peein' (or a-pooin').

    Take the expert traveller security gate. This is left to the regular security gates, halfway to arrival hall. Way shorter lines to get to the gates.

    The shuttle here is easy overpriced. It cost my husband and I 56.00 to go to lahaina, I the way back we took the bus instead and it was only 4.00 each.

    11:30pm departure, got here at 7pm to check-in and relax a bit only to find US Airways won't be here until at least 8:30pm. Fly ANYONE but US Air! Standing in a humid, non-A/C line is brutal.

    Agricultural inspection is fast, TSA security checkpoint is not. There's usually very long lines, so arrive early for your flight out of OGG.
