Japanese ramen place in the heart of San Francisco! Our foursquare account is now verified and we are now on Facebook and Twitter too!
7x7's Big Eat 2012 says the chasu ramen is delicious. Yum!
Long lines, so get there early
this is, without a doubt, the best ramen on the planet. try the katanaya. thank me later.
Try the Spicy Tuna Donburi and spot it on Foodspotting!
Try the Katana-Ya Ramen and spot it on Foodspotting!
great stop late late after a night out at bourbon&branch and before a night in at clift. keep it basic and go with the chashu.
really good ramen and they do take out until 1:15am. I got the Chasu and asked for it spicy based on other tips and was not disappointed.
When busy, there is a clipboard out front. Be sure to write your name down to ensure you get a table. It's worth the wait.
Best RAMEN ever. Well, OK - best in SF for sure. Don't be afraid to try the fried chicken ramen. it's excellent.
The best ramen in San Francisco. Soup base is even better than Santa Ramen(San Mateo). Must try!
deep fried chicken ramen noodles
spicy miso ramen yum
Very good chasu ramen
really good katsu-don.
It's a little confusing, but there is actually a tasty vegetarian ramen if you specifically ask for it.
Don't bother with appetizers... The ramen comes promptly afteryou order. We got our karage after our noodles. Long waits, but things go fast once you're in
karaage is omfg delicious.
Try the katanaya ramen! It has everything
Delectable ramen and an extremely convenient joint if you're already zipping around in the city. <3 the salt based pork broth option and their mixed fish salad is great value.
Chasu Ramen. Verdict: believe the hype.
If Stefon we're here he'd tell you that he Katanaya Ramen has everything - an egg, roast pork, dumplings, fried chicken (!!!) and a whole lot more. Get it spicy and rich when they ask you.
veggie ramen is MASSIVE
Best in the off hours but worth the wait in my opinion. Everything I've had has been good but this is a ramen joint. Always miso rich, sometimes fried chicken, sometimes spicy.
Totally yummay ramen the best, amen :3
If this is the best ramen in SF, then I feel sorry for SF. It was just mediocre for me.
Take it extra spicy, it's not THAT spicy and it's delicious.
Only spot downtown that serves good ramen! Be sure to put your name on the clipboard outside and be prepared to wait!
Some of the best ramen ever. Spicy tofu is a fave. Very fresh hamachi, too.
Best ramen, hands down. Do not go for their sushi, it's not the best.
The miso ramen is almost as comforting and delicious at the pork ramen at Daikokuya in LA.
Extra Spicy BBQ Pork Ramen.
Best ramen in SF? Not by a long shot. Tonkotsu at Ramen Underground still the best.
Get the Katana-ya ramen!
One of the few restaurants I've been to which advertises their use of MSG.
Best ramen in SF.
Rich broth is a must
Katsu-don is the bomb.. Get it while it's hot!
Here's a tip: Let it cool down before inhaling it! But, the tongue burn was worth my awesome spicy tofu ramen.
The extra spicy Katana-ya ramen is the way to go to get over a hangover.
#12 is what I ordered... 12 bucks but filling and good.
if ramen is a comfort food, this is home. I hit it at least twice whenever I'm in town.
Shoyu ramen doods! Get it and be happy. And warm. And full.
Overall a cute, small restaurant with a nice atmosphere and great service, though I honestly don't understand the hype. I had the Katana Ya Ramen which was merely OK and far from being the best.
For a bolder ramen choice, go with the extra spicy soy sauce ramen -- it's got a kick.
Big and tasty potstickers!
Se pensate che la cucina giapponese sia solo sushi allora non entrate. Se invece sapete cos'è il Ramen allora benvenuti nel Ramen migliore d'America dove i noodles sono freschi appositamente per loro.
