Wow. As good as I'd hoped. Pastrami really is that good. Here's what you order: Hot dog (w/ relish and mustard), pastrami (juicy) w/ mustard, latkes. Done.
Very crowded, make sure you're not coming in the noon. The food is good but a bit too greasy and the serving is only capable go two persons! Nice waiter anyway!
Best hot pastrami sandwich ever. Classic of ny, forbidden not visiting it. Very expensive but worth every bite. You can have half sandwich with salad (photo), it is better without cheese.
When you enter, you can choose self or table service. Choose table service. It's more relaxing and the waiters are NY fun. Meaning that they are good, but a little harried, so be on your toes!
Ordered a tung sandwich, center cut , they put tips in with the center cuts. Fries were mealy , this place, which used to be fabulous, has become a tourist trap!
New York's original Underground Gourmets, described some 50 years ago as a living, breathing Brueghel painting. Yes, the pastrami & corned beef are hand-sliced & usually terrific. A little over priced
A must-see, brilliant for photos. Classic american diner. $20 pastrami sandwich is best shared, just ask them to cut it - we split it 3 ways easily! And it really was incredibly delicious.
Awesome experience.. but crazy overpriced! Really cool place with loads of history. Even the locals eat here. Don't forget to tip the cutter (like it's some big secret) the tip jar was overflowing.
Not sure what all the hubbub is about except for the late hours for chilling after a night out. The pastrami on its own is worth eating but the hype, don't get it.
This sandwich place not only has amazing food, but delivery! So if you're feeling a little lazy, Katz's Delicatessen has the perfect option (re: pastrami). Let's just say we'll have what she's having. Read more
Not feeling pastrami? The turkey sandwich is probably the best I've ever had—so moist! Ask for it with mustard if you're getting it to go, otherwise you can add it yourself at your table.
One of New York's most essential delis. The sandwiches are massive, so they are best when shared. Don't forget to tip your slicer — your sandwich will be better for it.
Cash is paid on the way out - grab a ticket, order then sit. Pay on the way out and don't lose your ticket ! Highly recommend the pastrami on rye. Love looking at the celebrity photos too.
The pastrami on rye will set you back about a million dollars (OK, $20), but it’s twice as big as your apartment. Definitely worth getting at least once. Read more
Big sandviches. Brisket is delicious. Pastrami is also delicious. Actually everything is delicious. Worths waiting. Self service. Prices very low for new york. Tasting compliment is even big :)
Split a pastrami sandwich (dare you to try to finish a whole one), fries, and coleslaw. If you're not getting a beer, try the Katz's iced tea. Hot tip - pickles come with the sandwiches.
Katz's serves New York's favorite pastrami sandwich. It's not a sloppy pile of beef and as Robert Sietsema notes, "the flavor is emphatically smokier" than other popular versions served around town. Read more
You can't beat Katz's pastrami. Beat the crowds and get it to go; walk across the street and enjoy the park while you grub down on what made Katz's famous.
