People tend to check in during these times:
The train station once must had been inpressive, now is just plain scary. The international ticket office seems to employ solely people who don't like tourists and are not afraid to show it
Woww.! Be careful you're bag.!!
Nice station, which, however, needed reconstruction.
They were filming the Tom Hanks movie Inferno down here !
Very nice architecture but definitely need a restoration. It should be more modern.. In a location which is very easy to go by metro.
If you can, try to avoid exchanging money here, I feel like I've been robbed and raped
Beautiful building! See it! /Arrive in time, because there are far tracks!/
Taxi drivers are crooked at the train station.. Will charge 2-3 times as much to use and only cash. Avoid them from Keleti
Nice and old train station.
The train station is very old. It isn't good for a beautiful capital like Budapest. Needs to be renewed immediately
Always tell your friends or anyone u know not to take taxis that r waiting outside, don't trust them at all, just call a taxi company. I hope the government do something about that.
Free wifi in the McDonald's across the street, do not change your money there. The renovation for the square is really nice.
Really beautiful old train station. This is where you arrive if you take the train from Vienna.
Got much better during last 5 years. Now has free WiFi, international ticket office with an e-line, some ticket machines for local trains.
No nearby escalators from the metro up to the railway terminal. Tough task for those with big bags!
About buying tickets. They dont speak english so write what your want and show them or use your phone screen. International tickets can be found on the left side.
YES 600 forint luggage storage
Beautifully restored side entrance hall!
Horrible queues for tickets... Waited more than 2.5 hours (!!) for a ticket. Still communism?
Not that horrible as some of you are saying. There are security personal always available. This is a big city too so better be cautios that is all. Its not Mordor...
Worst station I've been to during my interrail trip. The staff at the ticket office is rude and hardly speak any English.

Run as fast as you can.
ALWAYS CALL YOUR TAXI! City: +3612111111 - Budapest: +3617777777 - Főtaxi: +3612222222. Fares fixed by law - base: 450 HUF then 280 HUF/Km and 70 HUF/min. 10% tip customary.
Do not use the official money-changer stands inside the station! Go outside and you will find places with a much better changing rates than inside!!
Don't miss the Lotz frescos, they are amazing. Main entrance -> 100 meters on the left
Buzi galambokat levadászhatná valaki..
buy your international ticket at the wasteels office at platform 8. no waiting line and the price is the same as at the international ticket office
As someone already has said, Mos Eisley! The ticket office for international trains is by platform 6, take a waiting ticket from the machines on the walls, but get the right ticket!
1hr of delay between Budapest and Praha... Awful service 'cause there's not an explanation in English for international users
One of the machines to print international tickets booked online is located near the main entrance (enter and turn right)
Lockers for luggage r available downstairs, diagonal from the massive ticket windows. Although there's nothing 2C in the 'hood around the station (as of Sep 2013), don't plan 2 spend too hours here.
Always check your tickets ( date etc) couse They always give u ticket to an a date other u asked for!
Free wifi around
Mocskos, lepukkant, szégyen. Jegyet csak alul, kurva lassan vehetsz. Borzalom!
Watch yourself and your stuff. This is the gathering place for stone of the lowest of scum in Budapest. And DO NOT take taxi cabs standing outside! They are Cons....
NEVER exhchange money at the exchange offices in the station. They change at a very low rate. Go and find one in the city.
Don't look around! Just escape as fast as possible!
Let's try a train! it's FUN!
Grab a bagful of sajtos pogácsa from Pek Pont. Yummy! I love you Katis.

Medvehagyma 200Ft, tessék csak!
The toilets at the station are horrible, wait till you get on the train IF you're travelling with railjet or InterCity otherwise it'll be the same.
