My favorite place in California. California also includes Yosemite and Lake Tahoe so that's saying something.

The Buena Vista hike, near Big Meadow Rd, is brief and fabulous. But pay attention to your pathway up -- mounting the rocks on top -- so you know how you'll descend. I recommend using poles.

So many fantastic hikes. No crowds and as beautiful as Yosemite.

Nearly impossible to get connected to check in ANYWHERE inside Kings Canyon or Sequoia... at least with AT&T. Best bet is to go with one of the Lodge WiFi connections, but 4SQ didn't like any check i

Try John Muir Lodge lobby for free unsecured wifi. Ask front desk to reset it if it's not showing up. They are taking donations for a new router.
