The Palm, Tropical, Desert and Orchid houses exhibit permanent displays of exotic plants in natural settings, complete with a 20 ft rainforest waterfall. The Conservatory has over 3,500 plant species.
If you go there a lot, you should buy a membership. That's where the conservatory gets all of its money! It's only $40 for a family of 6!
No matter how cold it is outside...leave your coat in the car, especially if you're a shutterbug. Sweating profusely or trying to balance a coat while taking pics can seriously hamper the experience.
Take your kids to the bathroom BEFORE you get in line for the butterflies. Otherwise you'll wait in the entire line again!
The Annual Butterfly show is our favorite!! We cannot wait!
Most of the action takes place high above your head.
There's food in the genesis cave, enough to last a lifetime... if necessary
The Conservatory hosts several photographer nights during the Butterfly Show each year. Pick one of those evenings to avoid kids getting in your way. Don't be afraid to get close to the butterflies.
If you make it up the hill to the Krohn Conservatory you won't be disappointed about the view.
Relaxing, peaceful, beautiful. The Krohn Conservatory will envelope you in over 3,000 species of plant life. Check out the cave behind the waterfall.
The conservatory has free admission.
Favorite place to go. Really enjoy the waterfall. Butterfly exhibit was great also.
Walk slow, enjoy yourself.
I went when there was fresh snow outside. It's like you're in a different, isolated, magical world on the inside. And it's free!
A wonderful retreat in winter. Open 365 days a year, and it's free.
This s a great place for taking photos any time of the year.
Completed in 1933, & named after Irwin M. Krohn who served on the Board of Park Commissioners. It contains more than 3,500 plant species from all over the world, & is home to six seasonal floral shows
Can't wait to see the butterflies tomorrow.
