Try the oxtail(pic) or beef noodle soup. Make sure to get an order of fried dumplings too. Top your soup off with chili oil and preserved vegetables

Skip the noodles and focus on the incredibly juicy and flavorful pork dumplings, the best you'll get in Chinatown--better than all those dumpling shops!

One of my favorite stops in NYC. Everything is so ridiculously cheap! I always get the knife shaved noodles with minced pork sauce. And the dumplings are to die for!

A must on everyone's to-do-list! Best dumplings I've ever had. 3$ for 10 dumplings, since they changed the menu. Safe space and eat as much as you can.

Hole in the wall with no frills but some of the tastiest hand pulled noodles & dumplings you ever find at a price that will keep your wallet happy. I recommend the beef noodles and fried dumplings!

Communal seating and a hearty bowl of steaming noodle soup. Noodles made in front of your eyes - labor and love. Easy to appreciate the hard work, light broth, and a beef brisket noodle soup.

Their fried dumplings beat out all the usual suspects--Prosperity, Vanessa's, etc. The meat is so juicy there is no need for sauce. Although, the chili and sweet soy sauce are delicious as well.

#1 - Hand-pulled noodle soup (beef broth) with beef and bok choy - $5.50 Noodles pulled fresh after you order. After several years of going here, it's still amazing to watch these masters at work.

Order the dumpling noodle soup and slurp it down as they make fresh noodles while you watch. Be sure to add the chili sauce from the jar.

This place gets crowded really fast, so anticipate some wait time when you come. That said, the noodle soups are amazing (make sure to season them), and the sweet dumplings are a real treat.

Get the noodle with 'miced pork sance'. It is the best. And then afterwards get 50 frozen dumplings at the amazing price of $8. It's way better than the stuff you buy in supermarkets.

Excellent Chinatown spot. Small menu of uniformly good noodle dishes and dumplings, at prices a bit high for the true neighborhood spots but dirt cheap by NYC standards.

Dumpling is the reason I came. I had to bring a bag of the frozen dumpling home, that good. As for the noodle, it's good, but I'd still prefer the other LAN Zhou noodle at Eldridge and canal.

Even if you don't dine in, buy their homemade frozen dumplings ($8.50-$10 for 40 pieces? Sorry, I forget), they are scrumptious! Lean, not doughy & fresh. Trust me! P.S. I didn't even fry them.

Beware of 'Lan Zhou' two doors down with the exact same yellow menu and red font. Lam Zhou is smaller, better, and has a guy in the back making cat's cradle from a giant ball of dough.

Look for street numbers as this is a very tiny place that has no sign in English, it is near a Kitchen equipment store place.
